Four new flat screen monitors have been added to the end of the boat ride in the good bye room. All four screens appear as framed postcards.

Currently, the good byes are unchanging.

Jim

Are these new monitors, or have they simply uncovered the ones that were installed several years ago and were immediately covered with "goodbye" signs?

Those have been there for a quite a time, I'm guessing they have been a casualty due to the horrible plan of plussing the interactive elements inside the queues and the rides. Or who knows, it could be all ITs fault and waiting on them :)

I did notice the screens were on this past Friday and not covered. They had the same static goodbyes, but there has to be a reason to uncover them. Testing? No other reason to keep them there powered on.

The IASW screens have been there for years. Never used.

True. I saw them used once about two years ago or so. Then now (as of Sept) they just have heavy poster board over on the monitors. If you look at the side you can see they are about 6" or so thick black boxes. Instead of just a sign. I have a few pics of them from past rides.

Well, at least they got the digital posters right in Town Square Theater. Maybe a few more years and they will get them right in small world. Of course, right before a big refurb to rip them out.

I think the tin foil hat brigade killed off a lot of the ideas of the ride saying goodbye [NAME]. Although ET has been doing it for 25 years, but then as you give the name in the queue I guess you could decline, whereas a name on a MagicBand is locked in.

Personally I love the idea of more personalisation, just add a tick box to MDE to opt out of your first name and celebration being used in the parks for those who don't want iptheir name being used.
