Flamingo Crossings landscaping complete and roads open to the public

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Wonder how long that will remain un/under developed? Seems to be plenty of unused retail space around the tourist areas of Orlando already. I hear there is even some at DTD.

My gut tells me Disney has signed some contracts but is holding back on any announcements for strategic reasons.

Would that be the "We do not want potential cash paying customers to know about our new stores" business strategy?

It seems to be working at DTD!

Disney really picked a bad time to expand their retail capabilities. They really seem to have been caught with their pants down here and at PI.

At least FC is outside what the general public sees as Disney property. I just fear that if something does not get built and opened in the next year FC is going to have the same post apocalyptic look that POP century the Road Warrior Years has. There is a development similar to FC up here in Jax that has had the infrastructure complete for a couple of years and it is quite literally being reclaimed by nature right now. I would hate to see FC suffer the same fate.

This is a battle I want nature to win. Bad idea, bad execution, bad land use, bad timing, bad management.

If Disney fills any retail space, they should start with existing vacant guest areas (see: two thirds of DTD)

Why would they do that? No news is bad news, in this case.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but is that potential announcement in any way aligned with the 4-year plan Disney has for the DtD development? :)

You cant left turn there as the road ends. Once it's built out, there will be a turn into what I assume will be a major lot. I guess its easier to remove the sign when that happens, rather than having to add a lane.

Poor attempt at humor.

It's not working at all.

I just don't think we should demand to be privy to their plans. That's my only beef with all the complaining.

PI and FC are trainwrecks retail wise right now. Disney should fix them and fast, but is under no obligation to tell us what the plans are. That's my stance.
