My wife is curious about the whole FE thing. Anyone ever take part in this? What did you give/ get and where did you sign up?

This board really does not do fish extenders - which honestly suits me just fine, but a lot of people do like them.

There are other Disney discussion boards where you sign up as part of a "Fish Extender Group" and everyone exchanges room numbers so that they can exchange gifts.

MY sister, sweetpee93, who is currently on an 8 night cruise participates in the fish extender groups. She posts here, as well as on other sites. From what I understand, she does gifts for the children in each room, as well as more adult gifts for the adults. She says she enjoys the scavenger hunt for the other cruisers rooms, and to see each day what others have left for them. She could answer more of your questions when she gets back.

Sweetpee gives some of the best fish extender gifts ever! :)

I will say we enjoyed it more when the kids were younger. They were so excited to check it when we got back to the room. As they've gotten older it's not as big of a deal for us.

But I wouldn't discourage it! It's fun to try at least once!

I feel like WDWMagic should do something like that! To bad there probably isn’t enough cruise posters to get it really going.

Betcha the girls cruise does a FE group. We'll be the 1st from this site!

The FE is fun. I try to do a gift for each person appropriate for their ages (like 3 & under kiddies get a sippy cup while 12 & up boys get reusable water balloons, adults get a mini bottle of rum). Then I like to do a "family" gift or 2. I've done all sorts of things. I try to think of what would be useful. Like on this 8 night cruise we're on right now I made up little laundry care packets. The groups can range in size. I've been in groups as little as 12 staterooms and as big as this current one which is 39 staterooms with a total of 140-something people. We opted not to split our big list into smaller groups and its been FUN!
