First week of January is COLD!

I was mildly complaining when we started our last trip on October 30 of last year-our first morning it was in the 40s when we got on the bus to MK, and never got above 70 all day. I don't feel so bad anymore after hearing about the temps this week.

Even in Texas it's been in the 20's, which is very cold for us! I just checked the Orlando weather (it's now about noon on Thursday) and it's 47 and sunny. That is pretty cold to be running around outside (for a Texan anyway). Oh well, at least it's sunny! The people from colder climates probably don't think much of it.

Last night that had crews going around to the resorts and parks covering the plants with plastic. That was quite an undertaking. There was a hard frost on the vehicles at MK. Looks like round two tonight.

So it just goes to show ya even in the cold tonight the park is packed! Last night you could have it to yourself. Which makes another point about crowds...... sometimes it's by the day!! Slow days happen when least expected we are still in New Years week. NYE broke some crowd and revenue records. Wednesday....ghosts town

Just 25 miles up the road from Charleston SC first big snow since the Dec snow after huricane Hugo. Right now it's 16 not much has melted since yesterday, roads are a mess, can't wait for it to warm up next week. My son's 1 year old golden retriever has never seen snow-- she loves it. Feel sorry for all those at WDW hope it warms up soon for you.

I would bet this is one of the few times the engineers on the steam trains appreciate the hot environment in the locomotives.

I don’t know if there’s any truth or reason to this, but Florida cold feels colder than other places. I was in Disneyland a few months ago and it was 60s and I felt completely fine, no sweatshirt. If it’s 73 here I’m freezing. Maybe it has to do with the humidity?

I had to finally give in last night and put my heat on last night. It was 65 in my apartment when I got home. No thank you.

It has always cracked me up to see people in WDW in cold weather, still wearing their shorts and tank tops, shivering and wondering why they're so uncomfortable. It can get cold ANYWHERE, people, and right now it's Florida's turn!

Having lived in south Florida for 5 years many years ago I think your body gets acclimated to the heat over time. I can remember it getting in the 50's and thought I would freeze to death, now living in SC 50s temp are no problem. I can remember back in the 70's we had snow flurries in West Palm beach living in an apartment with a small wall heater that didn't do much -- that was cold

You're right! I saw people in shorts! No jackets, I was cold just to see them:eek:
