First timer needs help!!!!!

Helloo there, i'm new to this so hopefully i've done it right. Hopefully nobody else has asked this but me & a friend are going to wdw for the first time nxt year & well... i need help!! We r staying on international drive for two weeks, first two weeks in may, and neither of us drive. Our hotel says that it offers a shuttle bus to wdw, though i've now found out it is only the magic kingdom it goes to! My question therefore is how do we get to the other parks, are we able to use the monorail,bus &boat to get to the other parks or are the just for guests staying onsite in disney accomadation??? We have booked a 14 day all in one ticket for disney/universal/seaworld etc
Please someone answer as the internet is such a mindfield for all disney related questions!!

All Disney transportation, including monorail, boats and buses, are available for anyone to use, regardless of where you are staying.

I will also add if you do this take into consideration your travel time back to MK from whichever park you plan to visit. Some of these of the I-4 hotel shuttles (depending on where you are staying) only make so many scheduled pick-ups. Wouldn't want you to pay for a taxi to your hotel from MK if you missed it.

The other modes of transportation are open to you. Just know that staying offsite will cost you a bit of time and plan accordingly.

I would take the bus to MK and go to a resort (Contemporary) and take a bus from one of those.

Hi does it def go the the MK and not the transportation centre which is in the MK area? If it goes to the transportation centre you will be able to get monorails, buses etc from there to whichever park you want to visit that day.

Thank u all for ur help its so confusing planning a trip to disney world & this site has made it soo much easier!! I says the magic kingdom but i suppose it cud mean the transport centre. Can you go & use the resort bus stops, do they not ask for id or anything? Think thats wot we will need to do to go to blizzard beach & typhoon lagoon. Suppose it will also get even more confusing with this new magic band fast pass+, though hopefully non resort guests will also get to use it!!

You can use all the bus stops, at parks or at resorts, no ID is checked that I've ever seen in all my visits.

You can go to a resort and use a resort bus stop. You don't need ID or anything.

Staying off site is not worth it to me by the time you weigh all the benefits of disney staying on property. Plus the magical feel of disney property!!!

Your hotel shuttle will be taking you to the transportation centre. From there you can get buses or monorails to any park.
Be warned, you are going to spend a lot of time travelling. I would seriously look at renting a car, or even changing hotels.
By the time you account for the time/cost of travelling it could be just as cheap to stay at the value Disney resorts.

Definatly find out when the last bus/shuttle runs to your hotel. I ran into a visitor last trip who had missed their last shuttle and MK was staying open late unexpectedly (weather the night before). They were stuck getting a cab that night. She did decide to ride Space Mountain one more time since they were stuck, way to make the most of it!

Our first trips to 'WDW started off on I-Drive and relying on coaches (Being nervous about driving in the US). A few things to consider....although it may seem ideal way of getting to the 'World, it comes with some disadvantages. Usually, the coach times do not align with the park times. On a few occasions we were forced to make the choice of watching the fireworks + 2 Hr wait for the coach, or get the earlier coach and miss them. The coaches are run by several hotels, which means it does a massive circuit of Kissimmee/Lower Orlando before getting to the park/dropping you off. Coach space is limited, which means getting to the bus stop very early and waiting in a long line.

We got fed up with the coaches after a few times and took the plunge and hired a car and never looked back.
