I have been to WDW several times, we have always stayed offsite. This time we are staying at All- Star..I have read reviews both good and bad for this resort but we are just sooo excited to be at a Disney resort :sohappy:
(not to mention taking advantage of the dining plan)

What do you guys think of the value resorts and their service?

Also....This trip is for our anniversary, Does anyone know if Disney can do anything special for things like this?

Chef Mickey's, Boma & I am not sure of the other will have to double check but I think the Yachtsman..... (steakhouse?) My hubby made ADR:)
I figured we could arrive early enough to check them out!:D

We ate at Chef Mickey's a loooong time ago at their character breakfast...I don't remember much of it. I was an EXTREMELY picky eater at the time, so I think I only had strawberries, lol.
I've never ate at Boma, but it looks very nice...and just wait until you see Animal Kingdom Lodge! VEEERRY nice! That's another one of my faves, but I rarely get to visit it. But you probably get to see more animals there than on Kilimanjaro Safari!
Yachtsman...hmmm...can't remember, either, if that's the actual name, but it's probably the one at Yacht and Beach Club. Also very nice resorts! I've stayed at Beach Club Villas once. And they're right across the pond from Boardwalk (and the Swan and Dolphin), so you'll get to see that one :) You might already know this, but what's nice about those resorts is that they're directly connected to Epcot's "back door"...which is sort of a more private entrance to the park through World Showcase. You can also walk to MGM from those resorts.

My husband and I have stayed at a value resort (Pop Century) the past two years and absolutely LOVED it. We're actually leaving in 2 days (yahhhhh) for another stay there. If you don't spend tons of time in your room then the value resorts have what you need.....a bed, shower, TV, hairdryer, ironing board.....all the basics. It's perfect for the amount of time we actually spend there. Also - we've been there for our anniversary the past two years and we told them when we booked. We actually got balloons and a card/picture of Mickey and Minnie at our hotel (autographed and personalized to us). It was a nice keepsake! I would mention this to the front desk when you go in......tell them your celebrating your anniversary and see if they leave you anything during your stay!

My husband and I ate at Boma last year and it was GREAT. Definitely try some of the exotic stuff! They also have a lot of basic foods that the picky eater can eat too. It was also nice to see AKL - Such a beautiful hotel. Make sure you go outside and see the animals too!

Have a great trip!

If this helps we have stayed at the moderates and prefer the values. We have stayed at Pop and SPorts 3 times. THe boys prefer Sports. To me, any one of them is fine. We are hardly ever at the resort , only to sleep and maybe take a quick swim. We would only stay onsite there is no other way once you do. Since we ended up going every year now the values are perfect for us. The dining plan is fnatastic and we have never had any complaints about the busing either. This will be our 15 year anniversary trip and we are also eating at the Yachtsman and Chef Mickeys is a must for us for every trip. Have fun.

Chef Mickey's, Boma and Yachtsman are all excellent choices. I've been to all of them several times and never was disappointed.

BTW, you can now also get the birthday, anniversary, wedding, and first trip buttons at the hotel when you check-in.
