The first time I rode it I went with my DS then 7...... during the ride I kept looking at him to make sure he was OK. He had a big grin the entire time! Looking sideways didn't bother me at all, I didn't even feel like we were moving! But, my DH doesn't even want to try it.... he gets mtion sickness pretty easily.

PS. My son was also excited he got to be the Commander the first time!

I would not risk the ride with a child with a health condition. It has affected people differently and to me it is not worth the risk. Plenty of other fun things to do!

I agree that most of the scary part of Mission Space is the before you get on the ride. We rode it two years ago and I worked myself up into a frenzy - the ride itself is awesome and you feel your stomach pulling - a little like the take off on Rockin Rollercoaster. Last year when we went on it, I was just fine - I think it was because you know what to expect. It's an unforgettable ride.

86 days and counting!!!!!

my little girl is 11 but she has seizures do any of you that has rode it think it would be ok for someone who has seizures?
Please, Do not take any child or adult on M/S that is prone to seizures. You cannot get to her to calm her during the ride. Please think twice before taking her on it.

Very similar. It's almost exactly the same concept, but the "cabin" your in can move and turn like a motion simulator.

When I rode Mission Space the 1st time on my last Disney trip...I was not sure what to expect...with all the motion sickness talk. I am one who can get sick on a long car ride at times...but i am always willing to try anything once..especially at WDW. Afterwards I found all the hype to be much ado about nothing..at least for me.

I am sure that it does bother some...But i think fear gets over exaggerated in the media then any other emotion.

I agree 100% with the exxageration of fear, like i said it took me a half hour to get myself to go on, and in the intro when greg senesus (however you spell his name, he's the guy from apollo 13 you had the measles and didn't get to go for the mission) says I'm sure your feeling nervous, as every astronaut has, I couldn't help but think he was reading my exact thoughts :hammer:

I have ridden M:S numerous times. Whenever I get a capsule to myself, I always look to the sides, close my eyes, and do all sorts of goofy stuff I would never do with other riders.

My biggest fear on M:S is someone in my capsule will get sick. Last year I was in a capsule with a woman and her two sons, and she had an anxiety attack during the ride which was frightening. Because of this, I rarely will ride with anyone who has not already ridden. Since no one in my party will ever ride, I always have done the singles line. And if I am paired with newbies who seem unsure, I will follow Gary Sinise's instructions and head to the Advanced Training Lab with no shame. I'd rather go back around the line than get put in a capsule with someone who will get sick on me.

I just came back from Epcot this December and knew I was going to ride MS.I was scared for the fact I heard of alot of puking stories from in here and did not want to barf in my beloved Disney especially in an attraction.
I went with my wife, daughter, and dad.I had an anxiety attack waiting in line watching the space station go in circles and started to get little sick.My dad kept on teasing me saying how can someone who was in the Air Force have motion sickness. He kept on making fake puking noises nd kept on calling me "Airman Pukey".After we got off and not barfing we walked through the gift shop and my dad went running for the grass and puked all over the grass by the popcorn concesion and everyone was laughing:p

I'm the chicken of the hour... DH keeps trying to get me on it - but I'm too afraid of the G forces... I love coasters - (Millenium Force is wonderful) Tower of Terror and I get along great - I can do drops all day long - however Rockin Rollercoaster makes me ill - that take off made me dizzy for a week - and to this day if I lean my head back against the seat when I'm taking off from a red light, I get dizzy for a sec... I don't think i could pull off MS...

Millenium Force is the BEST! My kids and I proclaim it the best coaster in any park anywhere! One evening we were on one of the last rides at midnight. Flying along the water in total darkness is really something!

I agree with you for the most part. It is intense, but I loved it. I came off of the ride and my legs felt wobbly. It was a complete rush.
