First Time Going Twice In 1 Yr...maybe

Well my wife and I started out planning to do a Seaworld/Universal trip. I am crunching numbers etc...seeing what works, we have points for free tickets to both with our credit cards etc.. but that dang free dining is available too..and the room at a moderate will only run me 80 bucks night after factoring the free dining and tickets.
This appeals, but it's weird for us, because our daughter will be getting to go twice one year before she is even 3 and the two of us were lucky to go twice in a decade when we were kids. Anyone else ever have this sorta weird guilt?

I don't have any problems making a better life for my kids than I had, be it their environment, their education, or the trips they get to take. Enjoy yourselves, and feel grateful you've got the opportunity.....:animwink:

We have gone twice a year for the past two years. Because of the deals, and because we wanted to get in there while my son is free. I know the next time we will have to pay but I totally think you should enjoy going as much as you can while she is free....Go Enjoy and have a lot of fun!

I used to feel guilty about going a lot when I was younger, because I had friends who had never been at all and would basically put the guilt trip on me. My best friend (who is still anti-disney and has now only been once) used to seriously make me feel awful about the fact that I could go in middle school and her family never took her. But looking back on it, its not like her family didn't have the money, they just chose to spend it on other things, and that really isn't my problem. I don't think you should feel guilty, its more memories for you and if its something you love you should do it.

This will be our first year with two trips and it is weird to us. Of course it's only happening because we had to cancel last September due to my daughter's cheer. Of course her cheer is what allowed us to go in March.

I'm not sure where the guilt come in? A three year old won't remember the trips when she grows up but you will. Have fun!

I disagree. My first visit was Dec of 1981, which was about 2 weeks after I turned 3. I remember it. And it isn't one of those cases where I remember from pictures, because my memories aren't of the pictures. I don't have exact details, but I do remember riding Snow White, the Indy Speedway, the ferry to the Magic Kingdom, going to the Tiki Birds with my grandpa (he's the only one who liked it), and I remember being at a gift shop on the way out where my parents bought me a mickey hooded sweatshirt.

So a 3 year old can totally remember.

living close by we go many times a year, years ago we never took vacations to save money for bills and retirement. That all changed when my son was in a very bad car accident and had head injuries, we almost lost him! After brain surgery and rehab. He was 16 at the time we realized if we had lost him what memories would we have? We now make time to make the memories and don't feel a bit quilty about spending the money. You never know what the future will bring so when a situation presents itself go for it and never look back! Have a great time!!!

I never once went to Disney World as a child. M<y first trip was five years ago. I go three time a year (with scattered weekend trips to Universal in-between those trips). It's easy for me as a solo traveler. I don't think it's weird at all.

Well. Maybe it was this storm etc...but we actually decided we will not go. It's just not in the cards, too much work to do on the house etc(nothing too storm related thank goodness). But the storm had us thinking we need the gutters cleaned, driveway redone etc...but darn it...I still may see if it can work :).
