First Time At Caribbean Beach - Questions

When it's time for checkout and you're taking DME, you must remember to CALL the front desk to have them come pick you up for them to take you back to customs house. You CANNOT ride the resort-loop shuttle bus with luggage. If you don't call for them to pick you up, you have to walk all the way there dragging your luggage. Found this out the hard way ~.~

Have you considered Coronado Springs? We also stayed at PO several years in a row and absolutely love it there. But last year we decided to go to CS and I was pleasantly surprised! I don't love the Mexican theme quite at much as PO but the resort was beautiful, clean, awesome rooms and nice queen sized beds, and it seemed the least crowded and secluded of any resort I've been to.
Just a suggestion.
I really don't love Caribbean Beach unfortunately. The pros of the brightly colored buildings that some posters are talking about actually seem kind of tacky to me. And I will agree on the busses being the worst.
However, if it was my only choice of corse I would still go. It is clean and in WDW, everything else is gravy IMO.

Oh and make sure you come back on here and update us on what you thought when you get back!

Thanks - had been thinking about trying CSR and I think we will give it a try in the near future! It seems that the most common theme is the poor bus transportation which bites because we will not have a car (PO is not ever really bad when we go in September). Oh well, patience I guess! And then back to PO or CSR!

Definitely give it a try in the future, I think you will like it and it seems a little more off the radar.
As far as busses, do you have small children with you? I can see the bus situation being worse if you are lugging kids. A lot of times when we go it's my mom and I so even if the busses are long it doesn't bother us too much because we don't mind the wait just being two adults who dont always need/want to sit.
I'm sure Sept won't be as terrible as it can get either.
Can't wait to hear what you thought!

Our last disney trip we stayed at CBR and that will be our last because we were disgusted to find cockroaches in our bathroom! Disney gave us one free night off the room but kind of ruins the magical experience! However I will say that we loved the banana cabana and the great bartenders!

i loved Caribbean beach resort! the food court is honestly themed so well! i remember a few nights sprinting over the bridge to try and fill my mug before they shut down for the night! walking around the resort is also very relaxing!

We just got home from a 9 night stay at cbr. Rooms were fine. No weird smells, overly obvious elements screaming refurb needed. The only big issue we had was when housekeeping moved everything around on my sink and dresser but never vacuumed the ton of potato chip crumbs off the floor my niece had spilled and my sister had a notebook opened and moved with her calendar in it as well as some personal info but nothing specific enough for someone to do any damage. Left us feeling like our things had been rifled through to be honest but that can happen at any resort anywhere. We did report it to the front desk and they said the person who accessed our room wasn't working that day but they shouldn't have even been in that area at all anyway, a little unsettling. My sisters room was cleaned head to toe including vacuuming the next morning, I just kept the do not disturb on the rest of the trip. We were very glad we had use of my car during the stay but to walk from our rooms in Jamaica 44 rooms 4434 (and the connecting room next door which had my sister and her family) wasn't bad going to/from the main building/pool area. the quiet pool was very close as well. i didn't have any problems with the food court being any more crowded than what we'd experienced at other similar resorts. we used the bus several times to/from the parks and didn't feel we waited any more than we did at any other resort. didn't use the internal bus tho since we had the car. i'd stay there again and thought it was worth the money we saved.
