Tandoori Chicken at AoA! Very yummy for cafeteria fare. This year, we're staying across the bridge at Pop, but we have plans to take a stroll over and get that for our first meal.

They have Tandoori Chicken at AoA food court ? Oh I have to visit this place for lunch on my next visit

We always arrive at different times of the day or night....so there is no traditional specific venue or meal. However that is the first thing we do, check in, unpack and go eat somewhere. When possible we really like character dining for our first meal at 1900 Park Fare. We love the characters, it's a great buffet, we get to admire the lobby and I buy our supply of bath bombs and bath salts for the rest of the stay upstairs at that Basin shop.

We drive, so we almost always arrive in the afternoon sometime. We unpack, hit the pool, and then head to the Polynesian for dinner. After 'Ohana or Kona Cafe, we go to the beach to watch Wishes.

We typically get to WDW property around noon on our arrival day so it is a lunch that we eat first. This is almost always lunch at Earl of Sandwich since we don't go to a park on our first day. Our first park meal is always Casey's Corner for lunch on day two/park day one. Our breakfast that day is always Chef Mickey's.

With my parents, we waited after we got to the hotel for a bit. We'd arrive early mid-day and were so excited we'd be first walking the GF grounds, unpacking, and getting ready, and then head to Epcot. Always our first day park, so we could hit MK fresh and first the next morning/ first full day. So that we always ate a late lunch/early dinner at Epcot on arrival day. Always TS.

With the DH, things changed. Arrivals are in the morning, so we unpack and rest a bit, check out the hotel, and then do an early lunch like Casey's or some other QS, and a TS at night. Could be MK first, and second day hit Epcot or DHS.

We usually arrive at the Wilderness Lodge late on Sunday afternoon. We unpack, head for the pool and eat dinner at Roaring Fork. Early to bed so we are ready for MK rope drop the next morning!

Since my mom and I like to arrive on property in the morning, food is always essential after unpacking. The one thing I absolutely CANNOT resist to start my off Disney vacation munchies is a pizza from the food court! Anyone else like that or do you get a cookie? Maybe some ice cream?

Yes! I don't know what it is about it but the pizza is amazing! I know it's nothing special but the atmosphere and the excitement of arriving at Disney makes it great.

Usually my arrival time is in the late afternoon. So by the time check in and unpacking is over we either go to DTD for food or stop at the food court and spend the night exploring the resort.

Last trip I had to drive in from a meeting in Tampa and arrived about halfway through everyone's 1st day in Epcot. So I started off at Electric Umbrella. I had a Via Napoli reservation for dinner, but by then the rest of the group was in meltdown mood and they made me abandon it.

It has been different every trip. First trip it was Wolfgang Puck Express, second was Planet Hollywood, and last trip was Uno's (off property). Had the best burger at Uno's a guacamole burger. I still dream of it. :)

We have no set tradition when it comes to the first meal - there are restaurants that we always try to get to, but in no particular order. And first meal often depends on when we actually arrive. It's usually lunch time, so it tends to be a quick lunch in the resort where we're staying. Even if our room's not ready, we drive there to drop off our gear, check in and then grab lunch. A lot of it also depends on how exhausted we are. This year we're driving per usual but intend to stop anywhere between Savannah & Jacksonville the night before so we're not powering through 20 straight hours or so on the road. While I'd love to maybe swing lunch reservations the day we arrive at Crystal Palace then stick around for the 3pm parade, I don't think my youngest could hack it and she's not the type to nap in a stroller. If we make goo time and arrive for lunch, it'll probably either be somewhere at DtD or at the Contempo.

When we arrive we it's late afternoon, since we drive to get to WDW. We unpack then head to DTD and T-Rex Cafe, Hubby and I share something there and Daughter gets the nachos.

First meal IN the park, Cosmic Rays. Corney yes but awww shucks worth it
