First Cruise - Port Adventure Question

My husband and I will be taking our very first cruise this May to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder. We will be booking our port adventure(s) soon, but there is something I haven't found an answer to on the Disney cruise site or elsewhere--when you book the excursions, is payment due up-front, the day of the excursion itself or a certain number of days prior to the date we set sail? Thanks for any words of advice!

You aren't charged for it until the day of the excursion, and then it is put on your stateroom account, assuming you book the excursion with Disney Cruise Line and not an outside provider.

We're going to Alaska in May too!! Can't wait!!:sohappy:

Just FYI, you can change and cancel Disney excursions up to 3 days before your cruise without penalty.

Thanks! I'll be online at midnight to book our excursions tonight, crossing my fingers that what we're looking for won't be sold out already!

This isn't just about shore excursions, but I just wanted to throw out there to pack WARM. We think May is Springtime, but it's still cold in Alaska. My wife and I cruised Alaska a few years ago. We sailed over the 4th of July and we had one day out of seven when we didn't need a coat. Skagway was so cold and windy that it felt like it was still March.

Most people probably do this, anyway, but a week before you leave, be sure to check the forecast online before you finish your packing.

(Also keep in mind that southeast Alaska is one of the few temperate rain forests in North and South America. They don't tell you that until you get there without an umbrella.)

We've definitely been keeping the weather in mind--from what I've seen online, average temperatures that time of year seem to be around the 50's or so, and we definitely plan to pack warm!
