All I could think about this lovely 4th of July was how Disney has ruined my hometown fireworks. :p Wishes, Illuminations, Frozen fireworks.. I've become a fireworks snob! There really aren't any firework shows quite like Disney! Anyone feel me? What else has Disney "ruined" for you??

Happy July 5th everyone! Hope everyone is battling those hangovers on the forums :)

Happy July 5th back at you! LOL being from the NYC metro area and having gone to DC quite a few times for the 4th and having enjoyed my share of Disney fireworks, I no longer go out to see fireworks on the 4th unless I feel like being in a very crowded place. Disney has also ruined most small amusement parks for me. I'm not saying they aren't fun, but..............just not the same

Funny, we always comment on this during the 4th of July if we aren't at Disney. Some of the comments we make:

"Fireworks just aren't the same anywhere else."

"You need the fireworks timed with the music like Disney!"

"Why do the fireworks only seem to come from one launch point?"

We went to Washington, D.C. a couple of years ago for the July 4 fireworks and it was amazing, best I have ever experienced. While we have seen some big fireworks in many places, I still get a thrill out of small town, local efforts as well. Maybe I am easy to please, or just really enjoy fireworks of any kind.
D.C. fireworks over the National Mall was one of those bucket list kind of things, but the heat and crowds, especially Metro crowd afterward, makes that a one time thing for us. Did Disney once in July as well. Heat and crowds just not worth it for us.
Hard to beat MK fireworks, any time of the year.

I saw this on Facebook, shared by the Disney Food Blog, via a WDW for Grownups group.

I don't even bother with local fireworks. Our neighbors shoot off some seriously "illegal" ones! It's nice though to just stand/sit outside and enjoy "baby" fireworks. LOL.
Actually, the FROZEN fireworks are the best I have ever seen.... even better than DC, or any other city for that matter! IMHO. Of course, I do love the music ( yes I do).:D:joyfull:

Last year I asked my mother... Where was the music?

We were at Disney last year over the 4th of July, but this year my family went to the fireworks with my parents in our hometown.....upon completion of the show my dad asks what we thought. We looked at each other and I offered the reply of: "Once you have been to Disney, you really don't care to comment on any other fireworks display!":banghead:

I lived a mile from MK for 4 years and have been back in PA for 2. The other night when we were watching fireworks I thought how funny it was that people were screaming with excitement. I saw them 7 nights a week for 4 years from our living room :hilarious:. Our location for the fireworks were great but it was nothing like a WDW display.

Our local ones were awful on Saturday night. It seemed like a long show, but that was because they were lighting off one firework every 30 seconds...just brutal.

We'll be going to ones this coming Saturday that are historically very good. We usually sit so they are going off almost right over our heads which makes it that much better. But they aren't Disney.
