Fireworks for the 4th

Just wondering why Disneyland was able to pull off a July 4th special fireworks show at the end of Mickeys mix magic but Magic Kingdom couldn’t do it, they just projected the red white and blue on the castle at the end. I know they just brought the shows back but just thought it was weird the west coast pulled it off and the east coast didn’t.

As far as I know a decision was made in Orlando several weeks beforehand not to do any 4th shows. Prior to this date it was a possibility.

One can only assume it was felt prudent due to safety not to.
