I went to Haunt earlier this month, the Hanging is good, get their early, last show of the night is the best option.

And don't miss Elvira, another show to get there early, I say 8:30 for the 9 PM Elivira, and 10:30 for the 11 PM Hanging. Mazes are best early in the night (stay in the indoor ones, and avoid Special Ops until later), or the hour or two before closing.

Have a GREAT time!

We are scheduled to fly tomorrow to Southern CA and staying near Knotts. Flying in and out of Burbank. To those in the know, is it still safe to do so? We live in Salt Lake and are used to wild fire smoke but I don't want to take chances.

There is definitely still some smoky haze hanging in the Orange County basin today, but it's only noticeable if you know how clear the air usually is here now.

Since Salt Lake City has been labeled by the EPA as having the worst air quality in the nation, you'll probably enjoy the cleaner air of Southern California. :) http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-utah-smog-2017-story.html

Enjoy your trip!

Let me point out that everyone should be prepared and plan ahead not just for Fires, but Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornados, etc.

I have a go bag that is always packed.

Enough food and water for my family for a few weeks. (And they know not to touch those cases of bottled water).

Have important papers together and ready to grab.

And in this age, off site backups for computers, including family photos.

We have the bug-out bags in a closet near the front door, but it's past time to replace the out-dated supplies in them, and the stock in the garage. And I haven't bothered to cloud-store anything yet. So thanks for this timely reminder.

Pardon the tangent, but I'm going to Haunt soon and am curious as to how Special Ops is set up this year. Are they using a ticket system as the original did or is it simply a queue?

Well, six days after it started the Anaheim Hills brush fire, AKA Canyon Fire 2, is now over 80% contained. The air quality in central OC has bounced back to normal, and the smell of a bonfire left the air a few days ago. And I can see Catalina Island again there on the horizon!
