"Oh no, it's a carnotaur!"

Sorry, heard that nearly everyday I worked in Dinoland.... It's a carnotaurus.

Fun fact:
Carnotaurus was a medium-sized theropod, about 9.0 m (30 ft) in length, 3.5 m (10 ft 7 in) tall at the hips, and weighing about 1,600 kg (1.76 tons). The most distinctive features of Carnotaurus are the two thick horns above the eyes, and the extremely reduced forelimbs with four fingers. It had a small skull, a thick chest, and a thin tail. The eyes of the Carnotaurus faced forward, which is unusual in a dinosaur, and may indicate binocular vision and depth perception.

I don't mind Dinosaur the ride (in fact, it's my favorite AK attraction), but Dinoland, and Chester and Hester all need to go.

I like Dinosaur and Dinoland, but Dino-Rama needs to go!! including all those stupid carnival games!!

I second that! Dinoland, as it originally opened, had a complete, coherent storyline as a backstory. It carried that theme through EVERYTHING, even down to the original Streetmosphere characters. True, the Dinosaur Jubilee tent was temporary, but I'd take educational dinosaur displays in a tent over Dinorama ANY day)

Dinorama was a complete mess-up of the original theme. Sure, they kinda worked the backstory of why Dinorama is there into everything, but it's still horrible. Get rid of Dinorama!

(Every time the Dinorama discussions come up, I like to mention the quote from someone at Disney, I think it was Marty Sklar, in reference to Dinorama: "This can all be gone in a week..." :D )
Ever notice that within the bounds of Dinorama there are no bathrooms or other services? There's bathrooms as part of the gift shop building, and bathrooms adjacent to the Nemo theater, but not within Dinorama. Also, the only food service is a trailer. REAL easy to move and dismantle. :)

Oh, and for some insight into the backstory of the original Dinoland, take some time on your next visit to read the bulletin boards across from the entrance to the Boneyard playground. (It even still includes the original map of the land, and it still calls it "Countdown to Extinction")

This is not a place to rant or rave about Dinoland. This is a place to discuss this fire.

Now, are there any news reports or info on this fire besides what dismedic posted before?

The smoke was really thick at MK at park opening today. Later the wind shifted and it cleared out. We are getting some dark clouds and thunder right now at POR and the radar shows some close storms so mabee it will knock it down a little.

This afternoon it was bad at AK. There was a lot more smoke than yesterday.
