Its not a controlled burn according to FHP.

Do they even allow controlled burns down there? We do in the North East depending on the day/seasons, anyone can go down and pay ten bucks and get a permit just to burn off piled stuff in your yard, but I always figured in FL even though it technically is a swamp everything is so dry and brittle it wouldn't be so common.

Heck, we burn entire dozen-acre fields up here every couple of years - it makes the blueberries grow.

I'm guessing it is much like anywhere else, its dependent on the conditions and time of the year for controlled burns. your better to allow it if it is safe then to have one just happen....

None taken Dave. Just thought she had some input. I also must have skimmed over your post of the fhp. My bad.

Edit: I didn't skim...it didn't register. Brush fires from lightning strikes is a common thing in the south east,
