We just had to leave out room at the Wilderness Lodge because of a fire alarm. There are 2 fire trucks and a couple of smaller cars. Let's hope it's a false alarm.

We are here now. We are on the first floor in a corner room right down from where it happened. We were woken up by the alarm. Our room smelled and was smokey. We left through our patio doors bc the hall was so smokey. Our room is still cloudy and the smell is really bad. It's a chemical smell. As we were sitting outside, it appeared that only the first two floors had alarms going off.

I wonder how many people sleep with the band on? I suspect a lot of people remove them at bedtime - and this was still bedtime for a lot of guests.
I doubt very many, outside possibly children. I took mine off immediately upon returning to my room. However, I doubt anyone can chalk this up as a mark against the Magic Band as just as many people slept without their room key in their pocket as do without bands on. I hung my band on the inside of the room door handle as a reminder to not forget it. But then I have a serious of FOBLOOMHR "Fear of being locked out of my hotel room" as it's happened before and is quite embarrassing.

We were staying at Atlantis when the fire alarm went off and the hotel was evacuated. My husband and I went to the Casino for about an hour, leaving my son (5) and his sister (15) in the room.

We were on our way back when we heard the alarm, and found our children downstairs. My daughter had the room key with her, and was getting ready to go back upstairs, but some other children had not, and the staff was trying to locate their parents.

Not grabbing a wrist band is no different then not grabbing your wallet & roomkey. Every hotel that has an evac runs into this. As ford91exploder says, know you're in a hotel and not at home, then plan accordingly. Anything can happen and 5 minutes of thinking ahead (half dressed, items in a coat near door, etc.) can save you a lot of trouble later! It's just common sense for traveling. I travel on business a lot and can always spot those who don't as they seem to leave common sense at home. You can relax on vacation, but you don't have to shutdown your common sense.

We didn't get anything, we also didn't ask. These things can happen. But it would have been nice if they gave me something like a free breakfast.

In the past they WOULD have done something without you asking for ANYTHING and charged it to marketing, If you are NOT a bean counter the benefits far outweigh the cost
