It’s an amazing show for a theme park. Of course it would be.
(I do wish they’d re-locate it to a new theatre at maybe an entrance next to Nemo at Epcot. Epcot could use a live musical stage show)
Honestly I am kind of bored with it.

Maybe you're in the parks more than us? It's been a "must see" for our family every time we've visited AK.

We went less frequently (every 2yrs). We never got bored with it. But, we're big Nemo/Little Mermaid/Moana fans.

They need to come up with a song as good as "Go With the Flow".
The AEA agreements that are public would seem to say that this allows them to go from 4 performances per day to either 5 or 6 (although if that's been renegociated since 2017, I don't have the more recent agreement to tell me). Exactly as you noted - more throughput and less show. Bet they don't even release the soundtrack here for it, unfortunately.
