Finding Nemo Subs tech for Living Seas??

I think they should make a tunnel running though the tanks and expand the Seacabs to run through it, sorta a 360 underwater view of the marine life. Just hope there wouldn't be a leak..

Monsters Inc. will be a separate attraction at Disney's California Adventure. Both that and Nemo are scheduled to open in a few years, around 2007. That might have confused you.

Be great but to do that they would have to close the tank and drain it in order to keep the sea life alive.

The seacabs already (when operating) go through a tunnel in the tank and give riders a 360º view of sealife.

It looks like it will be the old subs from the original ride (similar to 20K at the MK) in which ride vehicles - looking like subs - travel an underwater track through an external and internal lagoon. Their windows are below the water line, and effects make it appear they dive and surface. The new effects sound like a projection system in the water - although there have been rumours of transparent cabinets being placed in the water containing Animatronics (in the dry)

Not to be confused with DisneySeas 20K ride though; this uses dry for wet technology to make it appear to be underwater, when infact the attraction is as dry as a bone, save for thick `double glazed` windows on the ride vehicles, where the gap instead of a vacum is full of water (and air bubbles)

From what I understand the projections will all be housed in the transparent cabinets. They are supposedly already installing one of them in the outdoor lagoon area.

As far as Monsters, the ride will use a generic dark ride system, such as that of winnie the pooh as far as I know. I beleive it is using the same ride system as the now closed superstar limo.

I just noticed on the DIsneyworld site that the Living Seas is going down for rehab from August-November of this year. I'm sure someone here can tell me why?

It doesn't sound like anything is going to be done @ the Living Seas Pavilion in EPCOT. It sounds like everything written pertains to DISNEYLAND. Besides the Sea Cab ride as nice as it was, was very short and crowded. I would rather see them redo the entire pavilion and completely upgrade it versus a Band-Aid like NEMO. Almost every other pavilion in EPCOT's Future World has been given a make over, some good some bad. Living Seas seems to be getting left out. Shut it down, drain the tank, and rebuild bigger and better with more to do. The only good part of the pavilion is the Coral Sea's Restaurant. Thats the only part I go to anymore.

Really? Coral Sea as the best part? I ate there once and was so completely dissapointed that I now recommend to all my friends to think twice about going there. I've never seen a restaurant as expensive as this with such a LITTLE selection! I expected a lot more choices!
