Finding Nemo Musical - more details

Whatever they do, I hope they use Ellen Degeneres. Dory is soooo funny. I remember sitting in a dark theater with my kids when she started talking whale, I was laughing so hard. I don't know why, it just struck me as funny.

I don't remember too much music in FN though.

I seem to remember a rendition of "Beyond the Sea" over the end credits, and a nod or two to the Little Mermaid... but other than that I'm scratching my head as to what the "main songs" would be..?

YES! If they include the whale talk, I will be in tears! Nemo is my favorite movie, and Ellen had a lot to do with it.

My guess is that they'll be writing alot of new songs for this show since there isn't much from the movie.

On the bad side, I personally wish it fit into Dinoland...

On the good side, atleast they didn't replace VotLM in MGM with this similar show.

Well based on the first bit of information out about it, the show does not sound all that great. Puppets?! Come on, Disney can definately do better than puppets!

It is like getting details about your execution, very non-exciting and dreadful.
dum dum dum dum...indeed NOW who misses Tarzan when they thought it "sucked" after hearing this "wonderful" news. I know some of you say oooh as long as they use Ellen it should be great...WELL they didn't use her voice when they added Dory to TTw/Crush (correct me if im wrong but it sure as heck didn't sound like her) SO WHY would they consider paying out of their *** to have her voice the parts for the show. grrrrrrrrr

I agree. I was not a huge fan of Tarzan, but it sounds a lot better than this incarnation. Luckily, since it is a show, it can be replaced quickly if it doesn't work. Guess time will tell. Thanks for the info, Steve!

They are cheaper than live performers. I'm sure the wage difference between a puppeteer and a singer/rollerskater is big. More cost cutting and trying to capitalize on a popular movie. Nemo will soon go the way of Stitch and make us all sick!

I think some of you are being to hasty to judge. Voyage of the Little Mermaind, Animagique, and the old Legend of the Lion King at MK, all make extensive use of Puppets, and are all VERY popular. I think you need to wait to see the show before declaring its terrible.

In my opinion, THAT would have been the BEST possible outcome.

Think about it- Mermaid is dying, this would have been a brilliant way breathe some new life into that corner of the park ---with a cute little Nemo show. That would have been smart.

Instead, we are now taking away a pretty good and still popular show(which to be fair also never really fit into Dino-land either), and replacing it with what sounds to be a huge broadway-scale blacklight production about a talking fish that gets lost in Australia ...in Dino-land U.S.A.

Disney, you do some great things... (i.e. Everest)
...But WHAT on earth were you thinking when green-lighting this project?

Besides it sounds like the show will be aimed at youngsters...AK needs stuff for the little ones after all...

I like the idea of going with the black light puppets. I'm not real sure about the "musical" part, but this definitely sounds like a huge improvement over Tarzan Rocks.

not impressed

Blacklight puppets... tired old and have been done before, I agree this would have been much better at Studios. Tarzan was a much more exciting concept, and it would have worked even better in a closed theater environment. Oh well from disney's standpoit this will be a much cheaper show to operate.

Agreed. I think it would be prudent to at least wait until the show actually exists before calling it a travesty. Besides if the theater is constructed in the same manor as FOTLK (themed to area not to show) it will be easy to replace a bad show.
