Finding Nemo-Is Some Stuff Not Working?

Just got back from our trip yesterday, and my nearly two years old daughter loved the Finding Nemo Ride at Epcot. We rode 3 times, and while it is a fun ride, my wife and I were wondering if the lantern fish(the one with lots of teeth, and the one shark that is sort of poking it's head out of the wreck were supposed to move. The shark moved maybe an inch while the lantern fish did not move at all. Did they ever move? And if so are the broken down, or did Disney decide to have them not move since it was maybe too scary for, the target audience of the ride, kids.

They weren't moving any time I went on it in 2009 or 2010. I just assume that animatronics under water wouldn't work very well. ;-)

The shark only moves a couple of inches although lately it hasn't moved at all.

The latern fish on the other hand must have been under repair though as it is mounted to a kuka robotic arm and moves A LOT chasing Marlin around. I've only ever not see it move once and that was back during cast previews

That stinks it was not moving then! We rode it two days in a row and both days it was down.

FWIW, I was there May 14-26, and we rode several times. The shark was broken, but the Angler fish was fully functional- 1st time saw it moving since it was broken each of our previous visits.

The Angler fish uses a Kuka Robot which, in many factory applications around the world, breaks down a lot. Chum, the shark, only jolts a tiny bit but not enough for most guests to even notice.

this video has a pretty good shot of the angler fish at 1.40. it's high def and using a night vision camera by the looks so you can see the arm.
this was added in 2008 and it doesn't look like the shark is moving at all in this shot either, although on some of the other videos, he is clearly moving.

and here is one where it looks like the shark is moving, at 2 minutes. can't see the angler fish at all. added 07.

i also saw one added on the 28th may which also showed neither moving/doing anything.

A week ago the Angular fish broke and is waiting to be fixed, but as previously mentioned, it's on a Kuka arm and will be expensive to fix. The shark does move but it's only a very small amount. Not sure why they made that change but it's only suppose to move a little bit.

When I was there, the Dory fish was broken. It kept calling Nemo the wrong names like Fabio, Bingo, Chico, Rocko, Harpo and Elmo. The audio track must have been messed up.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends is surprisingly one of the few attractions where everything is normally working just fine, actually. The kuka-Angler Fish not working used to be common but is rare these days.

I've been on Nemo twice, once when it opened and once last week.

The lantern fish worked both times I went.

The shark has never popped out of that darn hole since I've gone on it.
