Finally, some Tracks on SDMT.

I for one am excited by the fact it's not crazy drops. Drops and I do not get along. At all. Ever. But I love the lateral push you get in Big Thunder. So if it's going to be more of that and less drop, I'm happy! :D

I'm the same way. I have no problem with Big Thunder, but I won't ride Splash Mountain because of the drop.

I noticed in the ride video in the Maker Camp thread that they show the second lift hill drop that the track is being laid for right now. It does have the smaller down and level off, followed by a bit larger drop that banks right. Looks fun.

Does anyone know how the track will be finished? By that I mean will the theming of the land go right up to the track or will the track sit slightly above the rockwork. I would have to imagine they would almost set it up as a tounge and groove setting to that the theming looks better from off the ride, but with the Vekoma style track they are installing, I dont see how the track can sit upon the ground without look very odd.

I assume they will finish it like BTMR where they bring the rock work up close to the track, then put rail-road ties under the the rails of the track to make it look like train tracks.

I'm most curious about the interior's content-the characters we will see, etc. Will they be re-purposing any SWSA pieces at all, or crafting new?

With the money and time they are putting into this land and ride, I would pray to God that they are creating all new ones. The old ones were just statues that moved on turn tables and maybe an arm that moved up and down. I am hoping for something like Lumiere in the Story time with Belle M&G.

This is my thought as well, but I dont see how that will work basket on the frame of the track. BTMR has track like a wooden coaster, even though it is steel. This track has a heartline rail down the middle. I guess technically they can bring up rock work to that rail.

People have described it's intensity as greater the Goffini but not as much as Big Thunder Mountain.
BTMR is not a ride I would consider intense. On a 1-10 scale of coaster intensity, it gets a two. GG gets a 1, lol. (I realize this is a personal thing and all our Intensity Scales would be different.)

So I hope that it is going to be a fun and interesting ride, since the coaster part doesn't seem to be anything to speak of.

Yeah, compared to coasters in other parks I would agree, but by Disney coaster standards BTMR would be moderate intensity.

I wouldn't count on anything too elaborate. Even if the Dwarves are all new, chances are they'll just swing their picks and shovels a bit. Remember that this is a coaster and you'll probably be whizzing by them anyway.

Actually, you'll roll by them relatively slowly as you enter the mine and approach the second lifthill.
