Finally, some Tracks on SDMT.

do you think that the ride will have animatronic on the same level of enchanted tales with belle?
We'll probably be lucky to see the Dwarfs swing their pick axes. This looks like it's going to be a glorified dark ride wrapped inside a coaster. It should be a fun ride with very nice theming but not a mind-blowing experience that will take your breath away.

Just something of note. This coaster appears to be using Vekoma's new wheel assembly. If you notice the car from D23 has the guide wheels on the outside of the rail; just as Everest does. This is a departure from the norm for Vekoma because with exception of Everest, Battlestar Galactica and now the Mine Coaster, just about every Vekoma has had the guide wheel inside of the rail. If you look at pictures of Rockin' Roller Coaster's train, you'll notice the guide wheel(wheel that runs on the side of the rail) is inside of the rail and running under the train. It's an interesting change considering B&M and Intamin have had guide wheels on the outside of their trains for years.

Thanks for the update, I can tell it is going to be fun watching the track take shape. Looking forward to the next aerials.

Are their still track pieces in the staging area? If I remember right, I don't think the entirety of the track was there (or at least, it didn't look like enough). I wonder if they are going to install what they have and wait for the next delivery, or if they have enough track to lay the whole thing out. They might not even have all the footings in place for the turn outs.

Here are a couple of pictures of what looked to be a lift hill section of the track being flown in on Saturday 9/15/2012.

The latest pics should basically show folks the level of "thrill" here on this ride. I don't know if this is 1st or 2nd lift hill, but that tiny little drop followed by a leveling off is likely indicative of the fact that this ride will be more about the turns (with the swinging cars) than the drops or airtime.

When I was thinking of the SDMT track, i kept thinking of some tiny little track comparable to the barnstomer, but these tracks pieces look comparable to any major roller coaster in any theme park. Wonder if they built they "extra durable" since they will be enclosed in the mountain and not easily replaced.

Please refrain from all Yeti references too....

That dip is coming off the second lift-hill (the one through the mine). The first lifthill just outside of the station is outside, and will start near the southeast corner by the Mad Tea Party and point roughly north-northwest (and will essentially climb over top of the bottom level of the mine just second lifthill)

I think it's just because of the cars running on the track. They're larger than Barnstormer, carry 4 people each, and have all the extra mechanics to allow the swinging motion, not to mention the swinging motion itself putting additional stresses on the track.

They track isn't Rock n Roller width, it is narrower, but it is certainly more substantial than the barnstormer.

This is so exciting. I want to ride it right now. Even though It is not going to be a huge thrill I know I am still going to love it for a few reasons.

1. I love the movie snow white
2. I love swaying. LOL
3. I like the concept of it all
And I am someone who prefers thrills over slow rides but this to me looks amazing. cant wait.

I for one am excited by the fact it's not crazy drops. Drops and I do not get along. At all. Ever. But I love the lateral push you get in Big Thunder. So if it's going to be more of that and less drop, I'm happy! :D

I'm excited just because it's a roller coaster. And because I love the dwarves. :)
