Finally going back!! Few questions

I haven't posted on this site in a long, long time. I honestly think I was too depressed in not being able to go in so long to visit much. Now that we are all booked and 93 days away from our first trip in almost 5 years I feel comfortable enough to get excited!

I have a few questions about the resort that we ended up going with. Our first choice was PO Riverside but when it wasn't included in the free dining offer we went with Coronado Springs. I later got the pincode that included PO but stayed with Coronado. Did I make the right choice. I later read some reviews of CS that made me wonder. (We have always stayed value, this is our first moderate stay)

2nd question to the frequent Disney visitors who kind of are not so sure about change... Do you guys like the Magicband and whole new setup? I am excited but at the same time hoping that we can still have the ease of getting to do everything as many times as we want. The new Fp+ has me kinda confused.
Thanks!

We love Coronado! It is about as close to deluxe as we will every get! I prefer it to other moderates but I also have no children and the fact that it was always quiet appealed the most.
But in this case, I would switch to POR (coronado and carribean beach will probably be packed while POR & POFQ remain empty)
POR has the boat to downtown and the food court is better than Coronado's. The transportation can be slow but being that many people are flocking to Coronado & Carribean for free dining, it may not be bad at all.
So even though I just returned from a not so great stay at POR, I would pick it over Coronado if I were you!

And as far as magic bands... love them! I was nervous at first but now, I find it to be the best thing Disney ever did. I mentioned it before but we managed to stay at MK from 3pm to 9pm and hit 17 rides (some re-rides), have dinner @ Be Our Guest, and camp out for the MSEP. We ended up not ever needing bags thanks to magic bands and sleeping in til noon!:D

I was wondering about POR being less crowded since it was only available through the pin code. We are total park people and are never at the resort but to shower and sleep and take a few pictures and explore a little. The main reason we chose to go moderate is that to pay the difference for the table service made it almost the same price to stay value. That and with teens we needed more room.

Glad to hear you were able to fit all that in because like I said we are park people and hit up as many rides/attractions as we can possibly fit in. I was afraid the new fastpass system may have made that harder. Hope crowds are still low after we get past the Labor Day Weekend that makes it wonderful! Thanks :)

I can't speak to the magic bands yet but I must say Coronado has always been one of my favorite resorts. Beautiful grounds, good food, awesome lobby, and good bus service. Have a wonderful, VERY long overdue trip!!!

I would assume POR will be just as busy as the other resorts. Usually when a resort is not included in a special offer, it's because there is no problem keeping that place booked...

I can't speak to Coronado Springs, as I've never been there. But we loved the magic band experience. We hardly waited in lines at all when we went in early May. I especially liked being able to make another FP once our 3rd one was gone. We never needed to use more than that - but we had our toddler in tow so we weren't doing thrill rides. We had no issues with the bands whatsoever though, I was very pleased with the system. I've never sat on the curb for MSEP before FP+. We would never have met Anna & Elsa without FP+. I did advance plan quite a bit, but it paid off once we were there. :)
