Heading for the great escape.
Yes to both special events, worth it for the parades and fireworks alone.

As for the water parks, there will be one open, however whether it is warm enough to truly enjoy is all down to the weather on the day. The water maybe warm , but you can soon feel cold if theres a slight breeze.

We go in early December and use the pools usually most of the time, of coarse we're from New England so used to cold water. Haven't done the water parks yet, but they are usually open though will close if that particular day is to cold.

The only party in November will be the Christmas party. THe MNSSHP ends on October 31st, (I think ). The weather will be hit and miss but not too hot, I would say "warm" like 70's, pleasant temps, lower humidity, cooler at night, maybe less daily thunderstorms. I am really guessing on the weather, I don't live in Florida but it seems like a good guess. The crowds are generally lower in November, early on, before our Thanksgiving, which is the last Thursday on the month. After that I am thinking the crowds bump up a notch and peak at Christmas/New Years. Hope you have a good trip!

We went last Nov around the 15th expecting it to be cooler, but in fact the first 4 days were were there the temps were in the mid 80's to low 90's. The last two days the temps dipped down into the 50/60's and even cooler at nite! Worked out for us due to the fact that our last nite we were there we went to the MVMCP and the coolness made it all the more festive!

I was comfortable in long pants and a polo the night of the MVMCP, but there were some that we wearing winter coats and gloves!

We were there in November last year (late in the month -- over Thanksgiving and into December).

It was surprisingly chilly when we were there (I'm a BIG hot weather fan, so I would say that was one of the biggest "cons" to going in November for me.)

If you go around Thanksgiving, it will be SUPER crowded, at least right around the holiday itself. However, you will be able to see all the Christmas decorations which was very cool and absolutely worth seeing at least once in your life. All of WDW has a whole different vibe to it that time of year, I think. :)

I believe at least one of the water parks actually was open, but only a few brave souls appeared to be going for it (it was in the 50s/60s.)

Yup, we were there just before Thanksgiving.

No pools, no water parks, it was CHILLY.

And we're from Minnesota!

Had to wear a winter cap for Illuminations, wow was it cold! (Well, cool.)

We had highs in the mid 60's, and lows in the low 40's!

Now, I was told it was unseasonably cool, temps were off by 15
degrees at least.

Here's hoping you get some Water Park time in!

All that having been said, and tho it was the coldest I've ever experienced in Florida--we had an AWESOME time and I wouldn't complain if it was like that again.

This year, we're going in October, hopefully, and hope that the kids willl get to go to the Water parks--it just becomes another "new thing" for them to experience on a second trip!

I have looked on the disney website to book the party tickets, but can not see anywhere to do this .

Can you help point me inthe right direction to purchase these?

November, our favorite time to go...specifically the 2nd week (between Jersey Week and Thanksgiving). Crowds are much lower, and the weather is usually gorgeous. The xmas party is definately something to experience...being there while everything is decorated for xmas is amazing!!

Congrats on booking your trip!! Isn't that the best feeling? Even if it is your 7th trip! :D We're going in November also, it will be our 5th trip.

We went over Veteran's Day weekend last year and it was awesome. Low crowds and Christmas decorations all over. I would recommend MVMCP just because you never know when you'll be there during the holidays again, and it is very special.

As far as water parks, I know the weather is still warm (70s), so they are open. But it isn't super hot, so I believe (and someone correct me if need be) that they heat the pools a bit so you still enjoy the parks. We are hoping to use some of our WP&M addition to our tickets, we've got 4 credits left. DisneyQuest would be a fun try and DH also said that since PI is no longer open, you can get a free round of golf which he's going to be taking advantage of. I need to research what it goes for, because I know we won't be spending 4 days just at water parks, even though they are a blast!! We did Blizzard Beach last week, it was so fun!
