EPCOT Figment, well, to be replaced by Figment

Lies and Deceit in these portraits. This is actually one of my favorite parts from the entire attraction. Pretty sure Wayne Szalinski (Peter Scolari) knows about Honey, I Shrunk the Audience unless they filmed it way before the attraction was built.

I wonder if Brendan Fraser knew about the Mummy ride when he was shooting his scenes for it.

Minor correction, but Rick Moranis reprised his role as Wayne Szalinski in "Honey, I Shrunk the Audience!" (and is featured in that portrait). Peter Scolari did play the role in the TV Show, though.

this ride is such an embarrassment now. seeing that Moranis is coming out of semi-retirement for his Disney + Honey I Shunk series, maybe he could be involved in the update of the ride...

Agreed, to me it's the most depressing attraction on property, not only because the current version is trash, but also because of it's depressing history, and the fact that Disney continues to refuse to update it, even when they should've prioritized it in the first place instead of building an unnecessary waste of CapEx aka the Moana kiddie splash pad, destroying the central spine in the process. Ridiculous...

The first time I rode this version I was angry, but since then I am just happy they haven't completely ripped Figment out of my life. The longer it persists in this state, the more I think that we'll eventually get something better moving forward. Dreamfinder would be preferable as that ties back to the beginning and provides for another "character" they can sell merchandise for, but I could live with a Figment only ride.

Again, this is Disney with no soul. Now they don't even have money for this stuff...

The whole HISTA/Imagination Institute theme has long overstayed it’s welcome. It’s completely unfitting to the pavilion & it’s instantly outdated, tacky, and cold feeling. Just go back to the original, whimsical, timeless classic ‘83-98 attraction with Dreamfinder & Figment but with upgraded/enhanced technology, spfx, AAs, scenery, and the original soundtrack remastered.
And honestly it’d be better to have an entirely brand new 4D film experience with Figment & Dreamfinder to expand upon the theme of creativity & imagination.

Not sure how feasible this is, though I personally believe this would be a fantastic idea to pursue. Wouldn't it be smart, if Pixar released a SparkShort all about using your Imagination in creative, beneficial ways, starring both Dreamfinder and Figment as the main characters? Not only would this be an amazing reboot of the characters since the comics, but also a way for Disney to measure the IP's popularity for a possible feature film or series adaptation inspired by the attraction, thus making it even more likely that we'd eventually receive the attraction we deserve.

Tokyo doesn't have this problem, but only because OLC pays out their nose for a single ride.

I can only imagine what Epcot would've looked like if it was at Tokyo Disney.

Where did you find this??? It looks like a collage of different images we've seen before, but somehow looks new at the same time.
It was on one of the new Color by Number exhibits at the Festival of the Arts!
Interesting that American Adventure and the Land are on there as well.

Very nice art regardless.

EDIT: Upon further observation that is the Wonders of Life and not the Land.

Hints (sort of) like this give me hope, while at the same time probably don't mean a thing. It is however promising that there hasn't been any acknowledgment of the Imagination Institute so far in any of the Epcot renovation material, merch etc... and the only references to Imagination include both Figment and usually a reference to Dreamfinder as well. I think it's pretty obvious that they're not proud of the pavilion's current state, and they are using Figment and Dreamfinder for representation, possibly because they're aware of what already has worked, and may work for them again in the future. Just a thought. If they really feel inclined to shoehorn IP into the pavilion, there are ways to include both Figment and Dreamfinder in those projects, since they're flexible in terms of where they can be used.
