fiber opic lights on castle

I have been watching the disney special on the travel channel, and I just saw in the imagineering one, behind Eric Haseltine, (the Excutive VP of research and development WDI) is the castle but it appears to be a scale model with very cool fiber opic lights on it doing all kinds of cool designs and patterns. It would be sooo cool if they acutally used those on the castle at night or durning Wishes or something. Maybe it was a test model for the 50th? But they didn't use it? Or it's a test model to be used some time down the road, I know this show is a few years old, but still I would love to see those lights used on the castle. If anyone else saw the show today please put your thoughts into this.

They had something similar on DLP`s castles turrets on NYE - just one colour, but programmed to cascade the turrets during the fireworks. Looked very nice!

im hoping they do that, because spaceship earth and the sorcerer's hat both have sparkling lights and stuff on them. so I think even more so that cinderella castle should sparkle too.:dazzle:

if i remember correctly there is one in the casting or team disney building that i saw... wait... maybe it was the maingate building...? anyone know for sure?

the maingate building is also known as the puppet graveyard... a lot of the old puppets from LOLK and TOD/TON hang from the ceilings and cubicles, and sit on shelves on the wall, it was VERY neat to see!!!!

I saw the Fiber Optic Castle, and it looks very cool. Maybe it will be installed when the Gold overlay comes down. It would be the most opportune time to do it.

the fiberoptics would literary melt the castle, it has to use such a high power light to do that plus, you know how many lights would take to program those sequences. Maybe we can wish for in a stage show or far more better, a newer Main Street Electrical Parade / Spectromagic.

Now some grids of changing leds would work fine

the fiber optics ends that show the light don't actually heat up do they? just the source where the light originates from.

right?

That would be correct, the light source, that in some cases are several lighting systems with patterns and color changers to do the effects. is the same systems used in the castle but enclosed.
