I never said Katonga wasn't a great show, but your first post made it sound as if you had never even seen FOTLK. And your comment that it lacks production value seems to back this up, just because they are not simply retelling a story that everyone knows does not mean it lacks production value.dr_teeth90210 said:FOTLK lacks production value and it takes a great tale and does nothing with it....Go see Katonga my friend... It's a great show.

Mary Poppins said:Actually, the float the Giraffe is on used to be the Green Army Man Float from the Toy Story Parate at MGM. I believe the float Simba is on is the only one that was brought over from DL. Recycling parade floats is extremely common, so by your standards, every parade at WDW is supercheap.
OnWithTheShow said:FOTLK has always had two Neutron Hazers. It just wasnt noticable when the theatre leaked in sunlight. I am not sure whether they no use them more or have added additional units. Two Neutrons is all you really need for a venue that size, so I imagine that they just have them in use more. Previously they were only really pumping during the Scar number and maybe a little after that, and they depended on the residue to provide effect for the rest of the show.
In the UK we call such theatrical scenic transportaion devices "trucks". Is that just a British thing?daksimba said:The rundown:
Giraffe Float: GAM Float from MGM Parade
Simba Float: Percussion Float in DL parade. (Still has the saftey clips on the poles)
Elephant Float: Original from the DL Parade, expect Waterfall no longer works.
Pumbaa Float: Orginally a DL parade float puller.
Center Float: Created for the show.
Giraffe and Elepahant are the Orginal puppets from parade. But the Giraffe was "modified" to fit in the shorter building. Hence the "stubs."
Simba and Pumbaa are more recent, being replaced appox. 4 years ago by Michael Curry.
