I watched the video again, and I know some of us had concerns about these elaborate costumes not surviving the Florida summers, but it sounds like they were designed with weather in mind, which is very comforting.

if you look at the original art work released of the mickey balloon you can get a taste of Mickey and Minnie costumes

Towards the end of the video posted above, the female emcee said the VIP characters would have new outfits.
When you say VIP characters, are you referring to Belle, Ariel, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Mickey, Minnie, Snow White, the princes...?

Yep the Spirit is already stating that he wouldnt be surprised if the fire effect ends up getting cut among other things.
Not to be the bearer of bad news, but the official description on the blog said it would have smoke/steam and "fiery eyes". If there was going to be real fire, I would think it would have been mentioned. There could be some effect with smoke and lights (like the POTC cannons), but I doubt there will be real fire

Plus, having fire come from a moving appendage of a moving parade float seems like a hug liability. Jack Jack in the Pixar Play Parade shoots fire, but he's mounted in place and the fire goes straight up; anything resembling a fire-breathing dragon within a few feet of guests is just inviting the lawyers in

I'm more concerned about the elaborate costumes getting in the way of any meaningful choreography. While there are tons of really neat costumes, it looks like several of them will have trouble doing anything more complex than walking and waving (seashell girl and bubble girl, specifically)

A lot of the more elaborate costumes showed off remind of Soundsational parade at DL and those costumes. Almost each unit in that parade would have one or two big elaborate costumes, almost Vegas show girl, like the ones they showed at the event, and the rest of the costumes while elaborate allowed for more choreography. I have a feeling that's what this will be like for Festival of Fantasy.

Exactly. Not every costume was on display at the fashion show, let alone any real choreography, so I wouldn't be too quick to assume that this will be mostly a waving parade. And just because a costume is elaborate doesn't mean it's resigned to being static. The ravens, for example. Very elaborate, but the wings can stretch out 12 feet and flap. It's not choreography, but it is kinetic energy that still enhances the parade.

I highly doubt this would be a "stand and wave" parade. Steven Davison productions always have both elaborate costumes and elaborate choreography. Never had a problem before.

Plus, they will choreograph with the costumes in mind.

Don't forget Dumbo! It would be kind of cute if they had the walk-around Dumbo instead of the animatronic on the float. I found him quite adorable at the New Fantasyland Grand Opening. I was watching the Jubilation parade and the kinetic energy of that unit will make a really energetic and zany finale. Reminded me of the Mary Poppins finale in Soundsational, which is also a fantastic unit.

It will be interesting to see if they changed the second half of the Pinocchio Dumbo float. Jubilation had clowns and 3 little pigs I think.

Considering that the VIP characters are a part of the finale unit, I'm pretty sure they will replace the 3 little pigs and clowns on the ground level of float. As for up in the air, here's what a friend had to say:

"On the dumbo float there is a large elephant that will carry two performers swinging in the air. In Tokyo they were clowns but with us they will be Pegasus girls."

I am really intrigued by the idea of the Pegasus girls. Sounds very Cirque Du Soleil/Las Vegas-like, and honestly, the less clowns the better (I think the Japanese are way more keen on clowns than Americans). Overall, good to see that even the "recycled" parts of this parade are being changed/refurbished.

Being more picky lol, for the finale I wish we would have got the finale float from Jubilation :(. Can't help but wonder if that could have happened had no budget cuts taken place.
