Im sorry to go back to the topic of lighting but some of you who are In-The-Know have said the floats have onboard lighting and strobes? Where exactly would the lighting be on the floats? From the looks of the floats it seems like any onboard lighting would be very minimal to none

I highly, highly doubt that is going to be an issue. Steven Davison has done plenty of productions with elements like these that have never had a problem. If the "suits" had a problem with the content, Steven would have had to have cut them already. Contrary to what some may believe, but a villain element to a parade (or any entertainment production), that includes fire or "darker" effects, has been just fine in many Disney entertainment productions.

When it comes to cuts...the only thing that typically has to be worried about is special effects. Esp. with TDO. They aren't exactly the best executive team when it comes to keeping everything up to show quality standards. And with Steven Davison (WDI-CE) productions, it's a hell of a lot more than just old floats and a character flood. His productions are very intricate and elaborate, and very technology and performance driven.

As of right now, I doubt there is anything to worry about.

I hope we don't have to worry! I would hate to see anything from Maleficent being cut just because the "little ones" got scared lol.

I don't know first hand, but from what i've gathered reading this thread and seeing the floats now, I don't think there will be on-board lighting. I do think it has been said that they are upgrading the lighting on the rooftops, however.

Yep the Spirit is already stating that he wouldnt be surprised if the fire effect ends up getting cut among other things.

Does anyone know if the characters costumes in this parade are their normal meet and greet ones or do they have special parade costumes or a combination of both?

It depends. Usually the princesses have new costumes. But I've seen some fur characters with the same costume. But with the attention to detail in this new parade, I wouldn't be surprised to see all new costumes.

In the costume video on Disney Parks Blog they talk about new Minnie's costume and a the bling on her polka dots. They also mention Mickey and Minnie's costumes go along with the Storybook Circus theme.
