Festival of Fantasy Parade coming to Magic Kingdom in 2014

The Peter Pan float...does the ship swing with the anchor (both pivoting on the rainbow) or is it just the anchor that swings? I've been wondering this since the artwork.

From the looks of the float set up I think it's just the anchor.

unless it is to allow for the ship to be unfold forward and upwards, there is a groove running along the bottom of the ship behind where it connects to the rainbow. If it doesn't raise up, i suspect it slides back and forth.

Steve Davison: Off to Orlando to review the new Festival of Fantasy parade in rehearsal! I'm so excited. We just finished mixing the music which is stellar (wait until you heard the dragon track! It's epic!)

Does anyone else think that the Dragon isn't really "steampunk?"
It looks riveted together and appears to have gears, but there's nothing overtly Victorian or industrial about its design.

I think of it more so like a mechanized puppet. When full photos were released, it reminded me of the time dragon clock in Wicked, which uses similar mechanical puppetry:

THANK GOD they are updating the daytime parade! Although no show has ever disappointed, I mean how could it anyhow, it's definitely been overdue that a new Main Street USA extravaganza rolled around! The costumes are so yummy (eye candy) with a fresh new look that really makes the new Fantasyland come to life. I love how you feel a lot of Hunchback of Notre Dame which brings back old memories (the live show at Disney's MGM (now 'Hollywood') Studios back in the late 90s. Really, whenever a new idea, ride, costume, character, or parade is added to the Disney parks, there's always a piece of Disney history that's you are reminded of each show. And all this could be done totally on purpose, but most of the time, you can tell it's the best mistake they never intended to make. <3
Way to go, to truly the most magical place on Earth!

I guess todays event was a replacement for what Disneyland did for Soundsational with APs and Media? Bummer. Granted the Media today didn't get see the Whole parade performed.. So lets hope another special event is planned that hopefully will include APs!

Cant say I am a fan of this costume BUT it is fun! I am Eh about the Lost Boys as well... They are Ok but I hope more performers go along with them!!

well, it makes sense, but I don't like it... specially if you compare this costume with the rest.

To be fair, that track suit looks quite drab. The seahorses are great, really great, but the track suit sticks out compared to the whimsy of the other costumes. At least the LM unit has other amazing costumes to overpower it.

I'm quite a few pages behind but I wanted to repost this pic because, WOW, @GrantR , what a fantastic shot that is! I don't care for that costume style much and will be happy to see more elaborate ones, but that pic is so well done!

I dont know how Disneylands AP party was done, but for WDW if there is a event party Im pretty sure its going to be a contest based thing.. Which I don't feel is fair to everyone, But If they don't do it that way It would turn into a "Unleash The Villains" event. On a daily basis yeah this parade many not bring in the crowds like many of you have said, but for a special parade event party? That's another story LOL.
