Is tomorrow still Media Day? Any chance someone from ABC being there?
Is Snow White shorter in FOF? Why? Will the Three Good Faries get their Segways? Or are they saving that for media day?

Over all AWESOME PARADE!! NICE to see a Day Parade back at MK!

I can't stop watching the Maleficent/Phillip part. So well done and just epic. I love the Tangled float as well, but that seems to be the float where the music is out of sync, I don't hear any Tangled specific music until after it has already passed.

What about Brave, I didnt hear any music there either.

There is. I heard a few verses of Touch the Sky mixed in. I did an AMV using that song once...it is implanted in my brain after listening to it for 3 hours while I edited the video:)

I guess I was expecting the scottish dancers to be dancing to a scottish underliner with bagpipes or something etc but they werent, unless I didnt catch it.

I am just glad they got through the whole thing and nothing really broke. I've heard that they were having some issues in the rehearsals with floats not moving properly. It looks like the audio was one thing that was not working 100%, but that could have been audience overpowering the audio. I loved the parade, I am glad Merida got her own float and the Maleficent dragon was mind blowing. I think they should add Aurora in there, maybe in the belly of the dragon with the spinning wheel? Or with Phillip in the beginning of the unit. I think this parade will get better with time, once they figure it out, add more here and there. I am just so glad we got a new parade!

As much as I totally LOVE the idea of Prince Phillip saving her that way, it would never happen. Some of the kids are already afraid of just the dragon, can you imagine them seeing Aurora "eaten".

Eh never thought of it that way, kids would flip out if they saw that. Either way Aurora needs to make an appearance somewhere, its obvious she is missing.

You are exactly right, we should look on the bright side. The Magic Kingdom finally after years and years of neglect received a brand new parade. We should commend them on the fine work they did on those floats...oh wait, some of those where from Tokyo....commend them on their soundtrack....wait...parts were lifted from other parades...commend them on their costuming....well except for Dopey/Sneezy, again...Tokyo.

My Point to all this is that we should be pleased Disney did SOMETHING, heck they could have created the "Share a Celebration of the Fantasy Come True Parade: Longer Descriptive Title/B-Mode Yeti" parade (Presented by Magicbands) out of all the old floats and called it a whole new experience. The problem, at least for me is that I'm tired of Disney cutting corners because they can. They are the #2 company with the most in reserves right behind Apple. After seeing what happened to DL BTMM, it's almost an embarrassment to even ride it over here in FL now. This company is capable of great things, that's why I grew to love everything about it, but if they don't get their heads out of their wallets soon they are going to end up like Blockbuster Video and all those other companies who thought "We're not going anywhere..." and let their competition get the better of them. Again, this is just all my humble opinion and your more than welcome to take it with a grain of salt. I'll loan you my shaker;)
I agree with your second paragraph, however, this parade is the furthest away from the corner cutting that TDO does. No one gives Soundsational grief for using Flights of Fantasy's theme. No one gives Soundsational grief for having 4 out of their 9 floats literally being the same drum float with different props on top. And that is real rich to give FOF crap about costuming when that Dopey/Sneezy costume is the ONE copy, and it's a damn clever one. Obviously one copied costume is enough to put down Mirena Rada's dozen + other original costumes. And while not all the floats are original, that does not change the quality of their craftmanship. Tell me, how many people watching the parade knew that 3 out of 9 floats are from Tokyo? How many would think that's a bad thing? Or how many actually care? If they're good floats, what's the real problem? If the Dopey/Sneezy costume is well liked, what's the issue? They have been well integrated into this new parade, and they only add to it's showmanship. On that note, no one gives the Boo To You parade crap for half of the floats being recycled from other parades.

Now I am not a pixie dust snorter. I am well aware this parade is not perfect. I know that maybe it could have used some dancers here, some characters there, and maybe even an extra unit. But I do not let that get in the way of acknowledging that what is in the parade is quite brilliant. There is a lot of good about this parade, and I am going to celebrate that because someone needs to here. I am all about calling out TDO when they make bad decisions and produce mediocre attractions. Festival of Fantasy is neither of those. I get that we're all entitled to our opinions, but I find it just wrong to place this parade in the pile of TDO corner cutting.

I think they should have Aurora with the fairies in peasant girl attire, like they are all trying to stay ahead of Maleficent dragon and all the baddies, because the 3 fairies seem a little out of place on their own

From what I'm seeing so far I really do love the parade! The Maleficent/Sleeping Beauty unit is amazing and I can't wait to see it in person just for that unit itself. However, the best way I can describe this parade is TDO's version of a Steve Davison parade. The parade is amazing don't get me wrong, the floats, the costumes, the music, I'm really a huge fan of it all. However, just little things like most of the characters just wearing their meet and greet costumes rather than more elaborate parade specific costumes, or where a few extra dancers could have been used here and there.

Also this is just MK's parade operations in general, but I feel they just have all of the floats and dancers to close together. You don't get enough time to take each unit in, and with them being so close the music overlaps. DL really spaces out their parades, almost too much, but I really prefer their method of spacing it out and then having multiple cross walks along the parade route between units. However, I think MK's method is just keep the parade really close together and run it all through at once to clear the parade route as quickly as possible.

I had the same issue with the music. Though, where Attractions Magazine filmed the parade, the music was very clear and the syncing was on point. Probably the best audio out of the videos I've watched today.

You're right, that was infinitely better. And I was actually able to hear the music and I must say, I really do like it.

Finally, Magic Kingdom Park's parade department joins the 21st century! This new parade, while not terribly groundbreaking artistically or overwhelmingly impressive in any way, is a vast improvement over the embarrassments they've been running on that parade route for at least the past decade.

I will say it's quite clearly obvious the audience on this Sunday debut were stacked heavily with off-duty CM's out to see their friends perform or for just a free afternoon of entertainment. The cheers and shout-outs to performers are evident in the YouTube videos, and when the dragon does its fire-breathing gag everyone goes hush because they all know what's about to happen and then erupt into a cheer that the trick actually worked on debut day. Yay! I know some folks think off duty CM's make for a high-energy audience, but I find that they are so in on the operation as they screech at their performing friends that it's more distracting than anything.

But this parade is a huge improvement for Magic Kingdom Park parades. They really had nowhere to go but up, but at least they are starting to climb with this pleasant new afternoon parade.
