Hi! I'll be travelling to Disneyland for my first visit ever at the end of April/early May. We're staying for 5 nights and choosing between the Anaheim Fairfield Inn (Marriott), the Tropicana and the Best Western Park Place.

Any recommendations on which of these is the best?

I'm very excited but overwhelmed with the amount of searching I have to do for DLR compared to WDW! :)

Hi Meeko! :)

I already gave you my suggestions, but I'm going to say Fairfield Inn. It's not as close as the Best Western or the Tropicana, but it is the nicest. It's definitely within walking distance. It's not more than 5 minutes past the other two.

The Fairfield Inn is almost directly across the street from the Matterhorn and the views of the fireworks from some rooms are spectacular!!

You are absolutely right about the information differences between WDW and DL. The first time we went dh was gone for a year on a military assignment and we all met at DL for 6 days (one day at Legoland). I was shocked at the planning differences. Once we got there, however, we had a wonderful time and felt like we were in familiar territory.

Dh called us literally the night we returned to our seperate homes to tell us he had just got his next assignment and guess where it was? Los Angeles!!:sohappy: Needless to say we were thrilled.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn in '05 and loved it. It was very convenient to DL and reasonably priced. They did not have a free breakfast in the morning but did sell some snack/breakfast items. There was a mini frige in the room so you could stock up on your own. McDonalds is right in the same parking lot as the hotel so it is very convenient to grab something if needed. The staff seemed very friendly as well.
