Well it looks more and more like we will be doing a Febuary WDW vacation. Does anyone know when you can start booking resorts for Febuary 2010. So far I can not get past Dec 31 2009 and I would like to book as soon as possible.
Thanks

I'm waiting too We want to book our vacation for April 2010 at pop and we want to stay in connecting rooms the 60's or 70's. But August is when the rates come out for 2010. not too much longer only a month:sohappy:

You will have a problem with that. The suites are only at All Star Music.

Thanks Guys
I prefer to wait and go online. I usually book room and tickets separately since I can cancel the room up to 5 days in advanced and I can set the tickets up the way I want. Does anyone else find it cheaper to book separately compared to a package?

The prices will be almost identical unless you book using a discount.

I already have room-only reservations at AKL for us and my in-laws for January 2010. The deposit for the rooms is the equivalent of 1 night...which was over $500 for each room. I think the nightly rate they figure on must be the holiday rate for 2009. We all know the rooms won't be that much considering our travel dates will be in the value season + discounts. Once 2009 rates are released our reservation total(s) will adjust and we can switch over to the MYW/dining packages as needed. In the meantime, my in-laws have paid a sizeable chunk towards their reservation. I'm betting by the time the rates are released and everything gets adjusted they'll have their vacation paid for. I, on the other hand, won't. We're busy paying off a number of bills this summer....

I am booking for January (waiting for August). I am counting on the 4/3 deal (hopefully to be released in October or November) so I can upgrade. Otherwise, I will be staying in a timeshare off property.

What is a 4/3 deal?
It was a promotion done earlier this year where for the price of a 4 night stay with a 4 day ticket you would get a 7 night stay with a 7 day ticket. In rough numbers it equated to about a 43% room discount and about a $15 per person ticket discount.

Just a note but there is no guarantee that this promotion will happen again. While it was very popular it is my understanding that Disney really gave away the farm on this one. The parks were full but profits were way down.

I am looking at Feb 13-20, though we may do Feb 16 to 23rd to avoid US holiday Feb 15th

FYI - if you can travel before the US holiday your rooms rate will be less than traveling after the holiday due to the change in resort seasons - before the holiday is value season, after the holiday is peak season...the price difference can be substantial.

In 2009, for a value resort room, its $82/night in value season vs $125/night in peak season...

Alas
My wife is a graduate student and my middle son an undergrad, and that is their university reading week, so I have limited flexibility. My preference would be to go the week before

Just a word of caution. If you are looking to avoid the crowds that occur from Presidents Day (February 15th) going the next day isn't really going to help. Many, many U.S. schools are off for the enitre week for (President's week/ winter break). We live in New Jersey and most schools here are off the entire week however, getting the entire week off is up to each school itself so it's kind of a crap shoot. I have only been once during that week a few years ago and it was PACKED.

I would prefer to go the week before, my wife is doing research so she has informed me there may be some flexibility. Air fare is better flying on a Tuesday or weds so I may look at leaving Febuary 9th and retuning the 16th. I can't remember what the weather is like that early in Feb. Hopefully crowds will be low for the first 4 days.

For the most part you are going to get rather cool to cold weather.
