February Crowds

Just booked our trip for the second week in Feb and am a bit worried about what I have read about crowds at that time. Last trip we went last week in January and found it fairly light and enjoyable. Anybody else traveled in 2nd week of February? How was attendance?

Anyway, the time you picked should be pretty good. Crowds pick up during President's week, which is the week after your trip, so the week before shouldn't be bad. The end of the week will be crowded, so just plan accordingly.

Sometimes just a gentle "bump" or an edit will help.....

Anyway, have a great vacation and don't worry about the crowds. February is a great time to be down there!

Thanks for starting this. We are flying in the night of feb 10th and leaving sunday night the 15th. I hope Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be fine. I assume Saturday is when it will get crowded. Any help on if I'm right will be good. Pres. day is feb 16th the day after we leave. (Picked the dates due to cheaper air) Coming down on wed and leaveing MOnday wouls have been $1000 more.

Oh just joined DVC staying at Saratoga Springs with our bonus points since our part of AKL doesn't open till May. :sohappy:

What (if any) impact can we expect from the super bowl (being played in Tampa on 2/1) ? We will be there from 1/31 to 2/14 and I expect the second week to be quite but am not sure about the first week.

The unofficial guide is predicting an increase in crowd size from 1-29/2-02 but should drop after that. Still not as bad as summer or holiday though. It should still be very manageable.

End of Jan and beginning of Feb are my absoulte favorite times to be at the world!!!!!!!! You'll have an awesome time. Weather can get pretty chilly, esp. at night and first thing in the am, but during the day....it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I live here in FL and I look foward to Jan/Feb every year. It's the only time of the year where it's almost guaranteed to not be warm!

PS...I know you didn't ask about weather, but I still had to share. I am looking foward to that time of year. It's still VERY hot and humid here.

Doesn't really affect crowds except for any public place with a TV. Watched the Superbowl @ ESPN club a couple years ago (Pittsburgh won)
and the place was mobbed by 2:00. Kids went off to the parks and said there were no wait times on rides.

:wave: We always travel in either January or February. Our last trip was February 9 thru l7th and the weather was great. Nights got a little chilly, but daytime temps dictated shorts and tees. Crowd levels are low and we found we could ride as much as we wanted with little wait.

January 2009 we are expecting it to be a little bit cooler, but still shorts for the daytime and jeans and jackets in the evenings.

We have been there during Super Bowl time and found no difference in crowd levels... Have a great trip!
