The upper level on the Japan pavilion. Great view. Also by the shop in Canada at the top of the stairs, their is a drinking fountain to your left that rarely gets used, a great place to stake out if you can.

Wow amazing view, never thought of watching from there!!!
I stumbled upon a great spot on my last trip, an area with 2 benches jutting out into the lagoon near the snow white meet and greet in Germany!

I never went anywhere else but Showcase Plaza, but after that view from Japan thats where I will be in about 17 days. Thanks for the great viewing tips.

From the boat parked under the bridge between England and France. We've done the Illuminations Cruise several times - rain or shine. It is a very special experience for us.

Second would be leaning on on the railing of the bridge between England and France. Last year on our last night of our stay, we had been to the Party of the Senses during the Food & Wine Festival. We came out of the festival, walked onto the bridge, it was a spectacular evening, and we watched the fireworks. Then strolled back to the Beach Club where we were staying. It was the high point of the trip - and we are coming back this year to repeat!

Last time we went, we sat on some benches behind the Counter Service Fish and Chips restaurant in England. They were right behind a rail, so no one could get in front of us, but the rail was low enough to not block our view while sitting.

How much does this cost? Can any1 do it?

The Illuminations Fireworks Cruise is available for guests. It was provided as part of the package ("Platinum") that we previously used when we visited WDW. I'm not sure of the cost; you would need to call the Recreation number for details. Pontoon boats are used, and they seat up to 10 people. The "cruise" starts 30 minutes before the Fireworks and they loop from the Beach/Yacht club dock down by MGM studios and back to then park under the bridge. After the fireworks, you go back to the Beach/Yacht Club dock. There are some snacks that they provide (soft drink/chips). We've seen some families doing celebrations complete with cake.

There is a similar "cruise" done to watch the fireworks over the castle. We've done both, and definitely prefer the Illuminations cruise.
