Wanting to go to WDW for a few night with just the DH for some get away time. I know the parks will be crowded and he hates crowds! Soooo what are some of your favorite non park activities around the resorts? We will hopefully be staying at either WL or Boardwalk. Thanks in advance - I know you all will have some great ideas!

We have done this a few times...no parks and no kids. We try a new restaurant or two at a resort or DTD. We go to one of the two miniature golf courses, a movie at DTD, a stroll on the Boardwalk, exploring the resorts, Cirque de Soleil...there is so much to do. The next time we do this we are thinking Splitsville and dueling pianos.

Resort hopping, relaxing by the pool, enjoying the lounges, catching MK fireworks from the Poly beach, strolling around DTD, relaxing on a beach with a drink while watching ELP, wandering around AKL and seeing the animals, dining at new restaurants, taking the boat around the Epcot/DHS area, riding the monorail loop, etc.

We like to relax with pool time at our resort. Another fun thing as people have mentioned is mini-golf. I have done both WinterSummerland and Fantasia Gardens. Both are fun but WinterSummerland is my favorite, it has a fun theme and the gags are cool with the elves. I did win at Fantasia Gardens though, so maybe that should be my favorite; I never win at mini-golf.

We love walking the Boardwalk at night. One thing I haven't seen mentioned though is a horse drawn carriage ride. We took a carriage ride around POR around dusk and it was incredible, we then had drinks and dinner. It was a nice break from the parks.

Shopping and dining at Downtown Disney is a great alternative besides visiting the parks, but be warned that there's a ton of construction taking place as DTD is being transformed into "Disney Springs". Traffic is also a complete disaster.

Other than DTD, Disney's Boardwalk is another great option. Flying Fish is one of the best restaurants on the property!

You may also want to consider going off property. Some other great offerings include: CityWalk at Universal Studios, The Orlando Premium Outlets, and Pointe Orlando, just to name a few.

Another great idea is to maybe take a day trip to Cocoa Beach!

Hope I could help out a bit! Have a great time!

The Boardwalk is a wonderful resort. If you stay there, you can walk on the boardwalk at night but better than that is, you can wake up early and drink coffee while sitting on the boardwalk and watch the sunrise.
