How to Train Your Dragon = Jalapeño Dragon...or so says my cousin's little boy. We love to rename everything around here..... :p

Big non-Disney favorite for me strictly for sentimental reasons: Ferngully. That's the movie hubby & I rented & watched at his parents house on our first "date". How could I not fall for a boy who watched a cartoon with me?

I have to agree with the Dragons. Does South Park qualify? that show is great to let loose to. Rock-A-Doodle and Space Jam are good.

LOL, South Park. That show is so funny, more funny than Family Guy in my opinion.

That it is. I learned that if you want to watch both then watch FG first. I do not sleep much, 4ish hours a night, so while I do my homework until 4am I watch shows. Since last Fall I have knocked out all of South Park. Kenny's life story is the best part!

Ugh! Cannot stand South Park. It's not just the script that gets on my nerves, it's the animation. That style irritates the heck out of me.

My sons like Family Guy. I, however, loathe that show. I feel like I'm losing serious IQ points if I even hear it...which isn't often because my boys learned really quick that if they want to watch that they need to do it so I can't see or hear it. I don't care where the source is, their bedrooms or not, it will get turned off. ;)

That said, I'm pretty sure I just lost all my cool points with the younger set. LOL!

Tell me about it. My sister faithfully watches Family Guy every single night, before she goes to bed. One night I told her South Park is way more funny and she disagreed. I ended up watching a Family Guy episode and afterwards a South Park one in one night and I just don't see how she claims Family Guy is better. To each their own.

Totally understand the whole animation thing. I didn't like it as a kid but I got used to it the more I watched the show! I'm not a regular viewer of the show but I do watch it sometimes.

Family Guy is a whole different story. The show was okay to watch once in a blue moon, and I didn't mind it. When my sister started watching it it EVERY SINGLE DAY, I grew tired of it and its stupid jokes. That's how the show gets by on being "funny"; by making fun of others, the old school way. It's really not that funny but so obnoxious. I even posted something on Facebook on how Family Guy isn't funny and a whole bunch of people agreed with me. I wish I could tell my sister to turn it off! We've been sharing a room for nineteen years now. I need to move out.

Oh good. I was totally feeling like the old fuddy duddy in the room there. LOL!

Your sister needs headphones! LOL!

I think you're right. FG really isn't funny. It's obnoxious. The constant making fun of something or someone really grates on my nerves. I'm all down with joking and having fun, teasing and picking, etc. But there's a point where it's too much. Once it gets to that point where it's nothing but the obnoxious act I just want to slap somebody...or as my boys used to say: "Spank them on the mouth!"

Exactly! Gosh, I can't stand it. LOL, she has earphones but she doesn't use them anymore! I need to start making her use them again!

Me personally, I love both South Park & Family Guy. Just stupid, immature humor, but I love 'em both. Neither are afraid to make fun of things which other shows might find unorthodox to make fun of. There's too much in life that people take way too seriously. Why not find humor in the little things? And by the little things I mean life, everything...just find humor in it. You'll live a lot longer.

Shrek, Madagascar, Ferngully, Land before Time, and Spirit-Stallion of the Cimmaron are all great. Some of the visuals in Spirit are absolutely beautiful, and choosing to not have the horses talk was a very (I think) brave decision, and I still remember loving it as a kid

Some I like:

Anastasia
The Swan Princess
The Iron Giant
South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut
Corpse Bride
Coraline
The Secret of NIMH
My Neighbour Totoro
Spirited Away
Mad Monster Party
Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit
Chicken Run
How to Train Your Dragon

I was going to put Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit as well, but forgot. Its so unfortunate for that film that they didn't get it released around Halloween, otherwise it may have done better than it did. It was a fantastic movie that for the parents here who haven't seen it...you need to watch it as well.

The Secret of NIMH is one of those older movies that showed the world that other companies could make quality animated features that weren't under the Disney banner. It was definitely a favorite of mine as a child and I snatched it up as soon as I saw it on DVD and even bought a book on storyboarding for animation by James Baxter that included many, many, many NIMH storyboards as examples.

Kung Fu Panda - I went to see the original in theatres and I don't think I expected much, but had seen some technical animation stuff somewhere online and was happily surprised when the film ended. I thought it had some nice character designs and animation that was on par with things that Pixar was churning out.

I know TPatP is hated by many people(including Don Bluth himself), but I like it! The music is fantastic!
