Thanks everyone. I will look into some of these. Like I said I do have one pair of comfy sneakers, I just wanted something else to alternate with. I plan on buying them in April or May so I can wear them throughout the summer to get use to them. We live near Niagara Falls so we visit there a lot and walk around from 10am-midnight usually so I think I will get a good idea if I can use them in Disney or not for the long days.

I wear Skecher tennis shoes with memory foam. They have proven to be the most comfortable tennis shoe for the parks. If you want a sandal type shoe, I go with Alegria. They are very expensive but worth every single penny. They conform to your foot and give support.

We are taking our first WDW trip in August. I plan to have a comfy pair of sneakers but I would also like to have a good pair of walking sandals. However I don't normally wear them so I have no idea where to start to find a good pair for a good price. What are your favorites?
I don’t wear sandals for all the walking. I wear Saucony sneakers. I can insert an orthotic for more arch support. Good socks. The Saucony are partly mesh material outers. When they got slightly wet in a light rain at AK last year, they dried quickly. My socks barely got wet. A friend of my daughter’s who was with us was wearing Sperry’s. Her shoes got wet and stayed so wet, she had to try and dry them with the blow dryer back at the hotel. A supportive shoe is key. My daughter complained of sore feet when she wore her Converse. You will do a ton of walking. If you buy a new pair for the trip, be sure and try them out/Break then in before the parks. Take bandaids with you, just in case. But you really should not be wearing anything that causes blisters. The parks are very casual. Safe to say, you could even wear sneakers with a skirt or sundress. Comfort is key. Your feet will thank you & you will enjoy your trip much more.

I love Keen sandals with the rubber cap over the toes. They're very comfortable, dry quickly (making them perfect for a ride like Kali River Rapids), but still protect the feet.

I generally wear good athletic sandals. I have a narrow foot and my preferred brand is ECCO Women's Yucatan Sandal. They aren't inexpensive, but they are good quality. As with any shoe, you need to wear and break in prior to wearing all day long in the Parks. The only drawback are the tan lines on my feet. :p

Skechers! They are great. The support is firm and they are super light on your feet, not too hot. The memory foam is def a plus.

Hope you find something that you're comfortable with. Don't forget to bring an extra pair of shoes.

Have a magical time!

I have sketchers with memory foam and they're the best thing ever.
They look like these sorta:

I wore a pair of Sketchers during our trip in 2016-very comfortable, my feet did not get hot, minimized the soreness of my feet after walking 5-6 miles a day. For our trip last November, decided to wear my Converse All Stars-not comfortable, sore feet, and now they are destroyed after a week at WDW. I will be switching back to my Sketchers for our trip next year.

I have back issues so the right shoe is important to me. I look for sandals with EVA soles and arch supports. Teva, Skechers and Reef have all been my go to brands. I'm anti sneaker though. I stopped wearing them in the parks regularly probably in the 90s when I found Teva and I've never had a blister at the park since. To keep feet happiest I suggest changing shoes often :)

I can't wear sneakers if it's hot, my feet get too hot. For an August trip I would have to wear my walking sandals - I have to have good arch support but I also need them to absorb shock since I have back problems. My go to now is a company called Fit Flop, a british company. They have loads of styles and stores in the US sell them now. I have shoes, flip flops, sandals, and winter boots in the brand now due to the great support and shock absorption - I think the home site is having a sale now, too.

I agree, I wore Fit Flop Sandals in Epcot walking all day from opening to the fireworks and I felt great. Usually my lower back aches after a day like that but I was really surprised at how good these were. The style I wear are FitFlop Surfa Sandals and I went back and bought two more colors so that I can wear them my entire trip next time.

I have issues with plantar fasc. from time to time and for power walking through the parks I always wear Asics Gel Nimbus WITH Powerstep Pinnacle inserts. The shoes have great stability and are not hot. I have not tried my flip flops in the parks but I swear by my Aetrex Lynco Slides for hot weather, I can't stand something between toes and even when running around and doing stairs they don't slip off feet....have great arch support which helps your alignment. They come in a lot of colors too! Super cushy and comfy. I have a few pairs of expensive walking sandals which are wonderful for slower walking and shorter walking days, but for myself I like to be able to walk semi fast all day long most days and have not yet met a walking sandal to keep up. I can wear the slides around all day running errands....and have referred them to both women and men and they LOVE them. Worth every dollar.

I love my sketchers. Walked ran jumped all day for several days all over in the Kingdom et al and never felt sore or tired! Over 25000 steps in one day was proof they worked for me!
