Favorite Deluxe resort

I'm sure this has been covered, but opinions always change. I'm looking to book for a May trip. Two adults, no children. What deluxe resort would you most recommend, and why?

I have stayed at the Grand Floridian (with no kids) and the Wilderness Lodge (with kids). You can't go wrong with either. They are both excellent resorts. I can't speak for any of the others. I'd say where you are planning on spending the majority of your time would determine where you should stay.

Meega, nala kwishta!
I'll put a vote in for AKL. Nice, quiet, relaxing place to stay. We've loved it so much, we've only been staying there since it has opened a few years ago.

Never stayed at GF but if I could aford it I would at least once. (and for romance it is great.)

Otherwise ALK is great, and a good vaule.

But really I think Y&BC. It is such a great resort, good food close by and close to Epcot and MGM (good parks for grown ups!) It is especailly great when Epcot is the only park until late and you can just stroll home from there.

On the same token I love BCV for young kids. We have stayed there 2 times, and while there is kids (at every WDW resort) it did not strike me as overun with them, nor did it take way from the romance of the place.

Here we go again.....

WILDERNESS LODGE!!

(we should get a free room for as often as recommend it. )

I've stayed at the Contemporay...on the monorail, but seems outdated to me. (but Chef Mickey's & the Concourse Steakhouse are good)

The Polynesian...the rooms are big & the pool/slide is a favorite, but I don't like walking outside to get to everything...got soaked & my kids got lost on the way back at night. We were one of the last buildings.
We were just outside the TTC...good for going to EPCOT.

Wilderness Lodge...great atmosphere & themeing.
The Whispereing Canyon Cafe is a must for breakfast (all you can eat skillet breakfast is just :slurp: ).
Love to sit in the rockers in front of the fireplace (yes even in the summer).
The boat to MK & Fort Wilderness (for the Hoop Dee Doo Review)
The launch to the Contemporary to hit the monorail or eat.

We just feel so relaxed when we are here. As the guard at the gate said..."Welcome Home".

Yacht Club b/c it has an understated elegance that is quite romantic and is within steps of Epcot, BoardWalk, and even MGM, all of which are more adult oriented, especially in the twilight and evening hours.

And the "quiet pool" is nicely secluded and the surrounding area also emitted an aura of elegance and beauty.

It's just so darn nice to walk into a theme park and not have to rely on busses and monorails. So very convenient (if EPCOT and MGM are your parks, however.)

Beach Club! I love the theming and the ability to walk to Epcot. There's also the lure of the Boardwalk across the lake and water taxi to MGM (or you can even walk). It was just great.

I'm excited to see so many people recommending Wilderness Lodge. I'm going there for 3 days next week for the first time so I can't wait to see it!!:sohappy:

I've only stayed at GF and Poly, so I'm not too much help here. While I love the rooms at the GF, we stay at the Poly for the most part. This, however, is due to the fact that I have a small herd of children. The "new" pool area is awesome, and I love the music playing all over. :) Next trip the girls have been promised a stay at AKL. I'm scared to venture so far away from the monorail (and the MK!) with all of them, lol, but I look forward to trying something new. :)

We travel usually 2 adults, no kids also. Our favorite of the deluxe is the Grand Floridian. I think you can't go wrong with any of the resorts on property. They all have their own special charm to them and it just depends on what type of decorum you are looking for. I just think the GF is more suited for adults who are traveling alone. Kids are certainly welcomed there also...but it is a quieter, slower paced hotel and great romantic resort.

Grand Floridian, being on the monorail loop was great. Also waking up in the morning and hearing the steam train whistles re-enforced the fact you at WDW!
