I'm sure this has been covered, but opinions always change. I'm looking to book for a May trip. Two adults, no children. What deluxe resort would you most recommend, and why?

The Contemporary!! Magic Kingdom view can't be beat. We spent more time on our balcony than in the parks the trip we stayed at the Contemporary tower (May 2003). From our balcony we could see the MK (fireworks!), Poly, GF, TTC, all the boats in the Seven Seas Lagoon, and with binoculars we saw the monorails in the TTC and MK stations and people walking around in Tomorrowland. I saw monorails switching onto the garage beam at night. And it's nice to have everything in one building, unlike the Polynesian..

I really disliked the Polynesian. The grounds are beautiful and the GCH is nice, but the rooms are very.. brown and yuck. The place seems really run down. My cousin stayed there in August (us in December) and she felt the same way, and they were even concierge. I realize that a lot of people love the Poly, this is just my opinion.

We've also stayed at the Dolphin.. I don't know if this counts as a deluxe resort or not. We found it to be very noisy and hard to get around.

AKL!

The resort is simply amzing! Very relaxing, and the savanah rooms are incredilble. I think we shot four rolls of film off our balcony of the animals. Great food, great pool, and an amazing lobby! HIGHLY reccomend it! :)

GRAND FLORIDIAN!!!

Not only is it luxurious and romantic, but you can't beat the view, and the feeling of your veranda opening right up onto the lagoon. You can open your doors and hear the parade at night and in the morning the trains are a great wake-up call. We love everything about this resort. It's the best and definitely worth the price!

I have always loved the Contemporary (as you can see in my sig) because thats where my family went when I was little. It has a nostalgic feeling for me. Last time I stayed there though, I was disappointed. The rooms are in need of a revamp. It's stll my favorite atmosphere and location...you cannot beat the MK view!

However, during my last trip, my cousins stayed at the Wilderness lodge and LOVED it! I spent quite a bit of time visiting their hotel (even passed out there one night after PI :D ). It was definatly 5 stars.

The Grand Flordidian is absolutly incredible as well. I love the Grand Floridian Cafe..what a bargain. But the atmosphere was a bit to upity for me. Felt strange walking through the main building in shorts and a t-shirt. but great rooms and view.

just my two cents.

I can't reccomend The Wilderness Lodge enough! It is such a relaxing resort, and so beautiful....it is like an attraction in itself!!!!!!!!!! If you have a good half a day, you could spend it exploring the lodge's lobby and the fun trails and paths outside as well. What a great place!:sohappy:
