Millennium Was the BEST EVER! Why, it was what it was. Nothing more, nothing less. It wasn't a false attempt to lure people to the park for no reason (100 YoM) or just say something (25th). Here's a list of comparisons of 100 YoM and Millennium...

Millennium Celebration: October 1, 1999-Janurary 1st, 2001
-Test Track (delayed, but still counts, anything build and opened within 6 months of start of celebration counts)
-JIYI
-Pooh
-Millennium Village
-Illuminations 200: Reflections of Earth
-ToN (the old one... )
-Doug
-RnR
-Asia
-Sounds Dangerous

100 YoM (some things are TBA)- October 1st 2001- March 1st 2003
-ToD ( )
-Mickey's Jamin Jungel Thingy
-Stars and Motorcars
-MK Parade (too late at night, can't remember)
-Millionaire
-One Man's Dream
-The Magic Carpets of Adladin

You missed Animal Kingdom Lodge, Pop Century, TriceraTop Spin, Primeval Whirl!, Journey Into Imagination w/ Figment, Mission: SPACE (assuming they extend the celebration 3 months, which would make sense given the first four months of the celebration), a new Tower of Terror drop sequece (we hope), SpectroMagic, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

But you also missed that I didn't do hotels, attractions had to open *before* the celebration and had to last it through, and no old parades. That's all but Magic Carpets, so I'll add that. :animwink:

you didn't explicitely state those rules, but the disney website specifically starts Primeval Whirl's description with "New for our 100 Years of Magic Celebration"...regardless, I still think 100 Years is better...to each his own.

P.S. were there any new resorts that opened "within the 6 months prior" to the Millennium Celebration???

No, no new hotels opened in the "6 months" time frame for 2000. AKL was underconstruction, but all the hotels they needed were already open. All-Star Movies, I think, could have been one of the ones opened in 1999. Anybody else know. I'm not a hotel person.

Me like rides:hammer: .

100 YoM is by far my favorite. It's the most planned out one I've ever seen. How each park is included and used to symbolize differant qualities of Walt is awesome too. I love the Millenium Celebration too however, Illuminations 2000 and Tapestry where both awesome! :)

IllumiNations 25?

My favorite celebration was the 25th!

I have a question about IllumiNations 25. When the celebration started in October IllumiNations 25 was very upbeat. When I visited the celbration in May the music was different. Can anyone tell me how the first show was? Is there any video footage of the show? I had the Music from the Parks CD and the music sounded cool. I was disapointed to find out it was no longer part of the show. Any details would be great!

Thanks!

60 days until Disney 2002!!!

IllumiNation 25 A & B

IllumiNations 25 A, as it is at times refferd to, was very similar to 25 B. The soundtrack featured a Circle of Life finale.

The opening (Nations Welcome) was identical. The Second Act (focusing on the Future World pavilions) featured the same laser images.

I was told that Eisner was very displeased with the 25 A; also, many guests prefered the classical score. Thus the hip music was replaced by a (hastily put together) classical track.

I think B was far better than A, although both still pale to the Original IllumiNations (1989).

I think you are right... Movies (or another one of the All Stars) opened before Millennium Clebration. I remember we were given a tour in Sept.98 while they were building it and I ended up staying there in October! :animwink:

I do think Millennium Celebration was a lot more than the others. The construction of MillVill itself earns the title for me! :sohappy:

The wand with 2000... just looked amazing at night...and the hat... o boy that hat.. it is the most amazing of them all. I would give up GMR just for that hat. It looks so nice. I think the best planned celebration was the millenium but the others are just as good! :)

AGREED!!! (about the hat)...

THE HAT LOOKS INCREDIBLE AT NIGHT!!! (Especially from ToT :) )

My favorite has been the 100 ywears of Magic celebration. besides all the stuff they did for it, just the idea for the celebration, Walt's 100th, is very cool. I have alway been a Walt fan, and this about tops the cake for my visits to WDW.

The hat looks cool (lets just forget about the fact that it blocks the view of the Chineese theater :) ) and I really like the new parades. I also got one of the magic pins, and it was kinda fun seeing where they would light up.

But my favorite part of teh celebration had to be the "One Man's Dream" exhibit. I have read "Walt Disney: an American Original", and all of the stuff I read about was there! it was a great experience
