Just personally didn't care for anything after that.

I didn't appreciate the Bad album until years later. It's really quite good (especially some of the b-side tracks!).

Dangerous was an excellent album. But, I didn't like HIStory very much.

The thing with the Thriller album is that...it was one of those albums of a decade that comes out that is good from the first track until the end, and packed with hits. I don't think anyone, even Michael himself, could have topped that. He was firing at all creative cylinders, the scandals hadn't reared their head yet, and he wasn't having any financial troubles (yet).

One pairing that never made it to market that would have been interesting is him and Freddie Mercury. They were supposed to have released several collaborative songs, but Freddie quit when Michael insisted his pet llama come to recording sessions in the studio (no, not a joke).

The good news for music fans is...the 3 tracks they did manage to record before things went south were finally released last fall.
