The original Journey Into Imagination. The loss of that ride broke my heart so much that I was crying when I got off its replacement. At least I can ride the new one without getting too upset, but I refused to set foot into JIYI after that first trip. Why on earth they would want to replace such a fun-filled, colorful, IMAGINATIVE attraction with the junk that is currently there will always be beyond me..

I can completely agree with this, I was the same way. Im still amazed that that cheap, wannabe carnival ride still exists.

Skyway: It was a nice view and peaceful ride.

Goofy's Country Dance Jamboree! :lookaroun (j/k). I wish that I'd been to WDW as a kid, I might have had a chance to see Horizons, 20k, original JII and all the other classics that I hear mentioned on these boards. I can, sadly, put AE and Mr. Toad on my list

JII above all. Dreamfinder lives forever in my memory. I also miss World of Motion, Horizons, and just about every other lost attraction.

Judging by the quote on the reply, I think they are referrring to JII. Has anyone else noticed the homage they pay to the original one in the form of a name on one of the doors? It reads "Dean Finder" Get it? Dean Finder? Dreamfinder? But I'm still outraged with what they did to it!!!

My family and I have been going to Florida once or twice EVERY year of my sister and I's childhoods and teen years.
We loved Disney!!!

I remember wheni went to the original Journey Into Imagination all excited cause it was one of my favorties... once in I was like "are we in the right ride?" (to my friend) i kept wondering about that.
Later at the hotel my sister was in a BAD mood... she was in original Journey Into Imagination later in the day and was NOT happy lol She said "they ruined that ride... its nothing now" (shes younger than me)

I wish i knew why they changed that :-(
There was another ride i miss but i forgot the name of it?
You got in a car then went up a clear tube like as iof your going upstairs and teh first display you see is footprints then stone age men blowing on thier HOT but dirty feet hehe

Submarine Voyage / 20K for me. I miss Skyway too, though I at least understand that closure.

Tasha, the other ride you were thinking about but could not remember the name was the World of Motion, another lost EPCOT attraction. I miss that one too.

Horizons, World of Motion & the original JII

Also the original MGM Backlot Tour with Mel Gibson and PeeWee Herman trading voices, C3PO and R2D2 talking about camera shots, and the Michael and Mickey short in the Coming Attractions theater... :brick:

We are going next month and had planned on Goofy's Dance Jamboree, gone forever and A Small World closed for rehab. So those are the ones I'm going to miss on this trip.

Mostly Horizons. The orange smell is one of those things that is permanently ingrained into my memory.

WoM is also missed. Great ride, good narration, and a good sense of humor.

But those rides were both replaced by terrific, first-rate Disney rides that I think are worthy replacements of those original Epcot attractions.

With that said, the ride I probably miss the most is the original Imagination. Although I never got to ride the first replacement (thankfully, so I've heard), the current version just plain sucks compared to the original. What the hell do your five senses have to do with imagination anyway? Talk about a stretch in the storyline. And how did they manage to take almost all of the animatronics out of this ride? Figment has been reduced to a CGI character. It's boring, poor replacement of the original ride that truly held some of the best "magic" anywhere in any Disney park. And they ruined it. Forever.

Plus that playground they had upstairs was one of the best post-shows ever. I used to love those huge tables with the hanging needles. Ah, those were the days...
