Would love a trip report............Dont see how its not overcrowded and long lines.......

I hope you have a good trip, it just seems you will need to have a lot of patience

I've got that. I don't mind a few 60 -70 minute lines a day (as long as they are moving ;) ) - we have 9 full days. Plenty of time to enjoy things!

Nope.....but thats what you're going to get

Would you rather that or FP+?
I keep saying, I never had FP+ for the big rides anyway. 7 day booking window. Refreshing got last hour of the day (after we would leave), or Tough to Be a Bug. It does suck. But it sucks less when everyone else is in the same boat you are.

You just get to join me in how to do WDW when you don't have FP+.

wow you have WAY more patience than i do.......

Have a great time........

we were there in April and it just wasn't the same due to a bunch of factors (no shows, fireworks, FP+, etc.) and if i wasnt going to lose my DVC points i would not have gone

Where are you getting the 70-80% estimate from? I don't know for sure, but that sounds very off to me - I was under the impression that it was closer to 50-50
It's not. Fastpass distribution generally ranges from 65-70% of the attraction's capacity and you also have to factor in the Fastpass line as the primary access point for anyone utilizing DAS.
For example, doesn't Space Mountain have one standby track and one FP+ track?
Kind of. Traditionally, standby goes to the left and Fastpass goes to the right at Space Mountain, but it is absolutely not a hard and fast rule. It's safe to say that the majority of Fastpass guests go to the right on Space Mountain, but they will absolutely send them to the left with regularity.

Somehow I don't think you mean that! :D

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather have fast pass back (free), but if we don't, we don't.

Sound logic and great perspective! I wont be........you can commiserate with all the others......I'll be using express pass at universal

Have fun! I hear the DVC resale market is hot, so you probably should go ahead and get rid of your points, too. I’m all for people doing what makes them happy instead of miserably complaining all the time.

Just pointing out for most people, Universal and Disney aren’t fungible. But if one theme park is as good as another to you, then why are you at Disney in the first place? Universal has always been a better price bargain.

The DVC market is insane.......I will rent for a year or 2 and take the $ i get and go to Universal to feel out the situation at WDW.........

People complain all the time on these forums.......you should probably not read them then

and theres nothing wrong expressing dissatisfaction with WDW for making things worse on their customers......

Chapek breaks my heart. Disney should be back to normal. Having to pay for fast pass is so wrong. If it isn't broken stop trying to break it. I understand the almighty buck is most important to chapek but sometimes you have to do the right thing for the sake of others.

We love Disney but everyone has a breaking point.......yours is different than mine.....

But lets face it, it's WAY worse now than it was pre pandemic......i dont think thats debatable

I've seen reliable posters say the ratio was set at 80:20. But if nobody is in the FP line at a given time they would send more from standy.
I recall these values being discussed by len testa on the disney dish as something that they had frequently measured. I absolutely cannot quote but I recall that it was close to this but maybe variable depending on some factors.

To be honest, it’s awful and it shouldn’t be paid but I don’t really care about paid FP. The thing I do care about is Standby pass. I honestly, don’t even know how that works at WDW. Lines are routinely out of control.

Standby pass (at least in my opinion) and if I am understanding this correctly is the biggest problem.

Looks like this is off to an awesome start! Cant wait for this at WDW! Bring on paid FP!

Like i said, be careful what you wish for FP+ haters..........

https:///2021/07/stand-by-pass-crowds-ad1/

To help mitigate the crowds in stand-by lines the Resort implemented Standby Pass. Standby Pass is a free system used on busy park days that allows Guests to select a return time for certain attractions to ride.

So, Fastpass?

Not quite, if I am understanding this correctly. They can stop the standby line when it get’s out of control (whatever that means).

Guests then pick a return time (like fastpass) to come back and wait on the standby line when the line is more manageable. The issue here is that if multiple e-tickets all have closed off standby lines you aren’t going to be able to ride the rides you want.

With fastpass, you could just wait in the standby line. Sure, it was long but you had the option.

No...Standby Pass is a pass (similar to a BG) just to then go wait in the standby line because the standby lines are too long to accommodate all the people

for eg...............So you walk by Space Mtn and it says 90 min standby line, they wont let any more people in line because its too long....you click in the app for a return time, it tells you to come back at 4pm, you go back at 4pm and its down to 45 mins so then you get in line to wait the 45 minutes
