So basically you have no chance in getting a free option for certain rides, and if you want to ride any of the following, you will need to pay extra.

ROTR
FOP
Slinky Dog
Rat
Guardians
Tron
7DMT
Peter Pan
Splash

This is not what this is saying. If you don't want to pay, you sign up for the virtual queue.

It has the potential to suck, but Disney isn't cutting off access here.

This absurdity is so on brand for current management. I got some flack in another thread about my gripe with the Deluxe Resort access perk but if this comes to WDW, it is even more proof that Disney does not want middle class income families to be regular park guests anymore. I know they have always been in the business of subtly separating me from my money, but they now have no issue blatantly doing it in such an aggressive manner....

I agree with your thoughts.

They want to push out the middle class families. Guests who pay for deluxe resorts, DVC and services like this lightning pass with pay the shortfall but will also have a better guest satisfaction because there will be less people in the parks.

It’s blatantly obvious how they are moving forward.

They want the middle classes to stay at home and enjoy they’re $7.99 Disney+ subscription

Far reaching. And thought provoking.

I know its been mention not to compare this new system to the virtual queue now but, how long do people wait for ROTR once their group is called? I'm curious. If there group is told to return 3 hours from the time you score a boarding pass, when you show up do you wait a considerable amount of time? Or do you get on the ride in 10 minutes like FP? I've never been on ROTR so I'm curious.

Also, I still have a hard time believing a form of premier access wont be free for certain resort guests or included with their stay.

Wdw isn’t Paris. I can only say this so many ways…MASS amounts of people…all the time.

this could create madness in the mornings and ridiculous crunch anytime the piddly customers are thrown any kind of operational bone.

and kill any kind of new/repeat customers. And that’s what they depend on…quarterlies calls aside.

how are those timeshares gonna sell if you have to buy a $2000 pass AND that doesn’t get you on rides.

they sell amusement parks…plain and simple. The chickens are coming home. Iger/chapek.

i hope I’m wrong…but every move has been predictable…most especially/disappointingly the customers just rolling over for it.

Prior to Covid…fastpass return was rarely 10 minutes…typically 20-40 minutes on the earth shatteringly exciting space mountain (built just yesterday in 1975)

this wouldn’t be different. I’ll just share…on April 9th I did the stupid Cell phone scramble at 1 pm for abrams fest…boarding group was 4:45…took about 25 minutes to get on. Good news is I never have to do that again.

Can any of our insiders verify this will be similar to the new system going into WDW? I’d imagine Paris is a test bed but surely some of these features just won’t fly in WDW (standby pass).

So you don't think WDW gets the exact Paris model?
