There's a big difference in using the app and hitting refresh, which is a very common thing and something everybody does when buying any kind of tickets for anything, and writing a bot. They are in no way similar. Hitting refresh is not gaming the system. Gaming the system would be writing an app on my phone that would automatically refresh faster than a human being could, and grabbing the most coveted fast passes as soon as they became available.

Wait, just gave myself an idea. Maybe I should go write some code...

This is correct and an excellent observation regarding the not so obvious complexity of mathematics as it applies in many of the arguments here. This scenario yields a net 2.5% savings over the initial price... is it really 25%? No, is it misleading? yes. Are you better off with 2.5% vs. no savings, objectively yes.

That's not gaming the system. Gaming the system is booking pooh fast passes continually while its down then using the multiple experience passes to ride space mountain four times in an hour on Christmas eve. Which I'd know nothing about.

- Having to make ride reservations 60 days out
- Having to pay onsite prices to even have that opportunity
- Facing that the vast majority of availability will be consumed before you even step in a park
- Losing the ability to have an equal shot at a pass as everyone else day of

You don’t need to make reservations sixty days out to get good FastPasses, which means you don’t need to pay onsite prices. You’re speaking in extremes, having criticised others for doing so yesterday.

For every FP? Of course not. For the good FPs on the DAYS YOU WANT at the TIMES YOU WANT... yes you do. Don't complicate the issue with adhoc FPs where you pick whatever is available AFTER you've already done your scheduled FPs.

For me, it was normal to be able to secure a good selection of prebooked FastPasses thirty days out. This was the case across multiple trips taken between 2017 and 2020. My norm may not be yours or others’, but whereas I’m willing to accept that there are a plurality of experiences out there, you won’t budge on the issue.

I don’t think there’s anything further I can add to the discussion—we’re already going around in circles—so I’ll bid you a good day.

No, the difference is when talking about the system AS A WHOLE, you can't wash away all aspects just because not everyone is burdened the same.

What is the same is.. if that constraint didn't exist, nobody would experience it.

This reeks of the scenario where people who travel solo or as a couple can't grasp the struggles that a family or larger group have because "I never have a problem getting an ADR... " "I never have problem getting FPs"... yes, because finding an availability slot for a group of 2 is a lot easier than fitting a group of 5.

That doesn't mean the family's struggles don't exist, or that the constraints being applied have consequences just because some people don't feel the impact the same.

Or the people that buy their way out of a problem by doing things like a desert party... and then act like crowding or loss of viewing areas isn't a big deal... because hrmph... it doesn't impact them...

Stop thinking about 'what I experience' and decide if the scenarios being described are actually legitimate or not.

Or you really believe no one ever has problems getting FPs, and dining schedules, and show schedules, and parks, all on their first try... whenever they get around to it.
