FASTPASS a BIG Problem

Well if you did that, you would get huge lines just to get fastpasses throughout the day. :-\

I really hate it when people say that people in the long stand-by times should have just gotten a Fastpass and that they have that choice. Well....hello here, but on a really busy day- you're lucky if you get a Fastpass every three hours. And since most attractions sell out by 12-2, this means you may get 3 Fastpasses- thats it. So you may get to Fastpass Space, Pooh, and BUzz- but if you want to ride Peter Pan, Splash, and THunder- you'll be the one complaining as you walk up to the "200 minute wait". Fact is- lines never got to be in these ranges before Fastpass unless they were really new (TT, Indiana Jones at DL) but now- its not uncomman to see lines between 120-250 minutes long- its crazy and something needs to be done...now.

There have always been long lines at WDW. The first trip that I can really remember was in 1982. Trust me, there were some pretty long lines. In fact it seemed like everything was over an hour and 120 minutes was not unusual. I also went a few times in the 1990s. There were long lines in 1992, 1995 and 1998.

I personally love fastpass. However, I have to confess that I have not been in the parks during peak season in several years and I suspect that's when the fastpasses are much less available.

If you plan correctly, fastpass allows you to see much, much more. I personally will give up a little spontaneity for being able to do see more attractions. Just my opinion.

Yeah.. well those peopl that got the fastpasses for peter pan splash and thunder will be in the reverse situation for Space Pooh and Buzz. Everyone gets the same chances at using fastpass, so you shouldn't complain. When you start to think about complaining about a person using a fastpass by you.. just remember that you might fastpass by that person on a ride you got a fastpass for but they didn't.

I never said that....i just said, don't complain that you have to wait in a 200 minute line for Splash Mountain because you decided on a Fastpass for Space and then get told "its your fault- next time get Fastpass"

Now you must admit that there is a LITTLE bit of overstating there. Most of the time, in the summer, Splash will have between a 60-90 minute wait during the heat of the day. Before fastpass it usually had a 60-90 minute wait. Remember when they had the excess queue on the bridge directly in front of the mountain.

Ok I'll give you Peter Pan. I haven't seen that in years because of the wait but the line was still long before Fastpass. And it VERY rarely gets up to 100 minutes. It's usually about 60 minutes and it used to be about 45 minutes before Fastpass. So I'll give you that one. But I do think it is the exception not the rule, IMO.

Nope if it weren't for Fastpass I would never get to see Pooh because it usually had a 45-90 minute wait. Sorry I can't give you Pooh.

well it wouldn't have those kind of lines without Fastpass- they're really bad at that ride for the famous "standby hold up" where standby REALLY means "stand-by"

No I ment it had 45-90 minute waits BEFORE fastpass. But it was also a newer attraction. Now it rarely exceeds 45 minutes. And you are right stand by at Pooh really is stand by. I think the Fantasyland attractions (except Philharmagic) weren't really designed with FP in mind and the capacity really isn't that great to begin with.

When do you visit? I've never seen Pooh at LESS than 75... and i don't go during that busy of times. Fantasyland dark rides were msot defenently NOT designed for Fastpass....way too slow loading to be able to manage two lines. Philarmagic- fastpass is jsut a pain and causes BIG headaches with standby and fastpass return overflowing all the way to the carrosel....theater shows do not need fastpass

I saw Pooh with a 45 minute wait on the Saturday before Christmas. Peter Pan had a 60 minute wait. Tonight, Pooh had a 30 minute wait.

Philarharmagic would be a pain with or without FP. That queue is totally screwed up and only redesigning it will make it better.

I go in June and July and every other year at Christmas. And I haven't seen Pooh with that big of a line since the 1st or 2nd year of operation.

I think FP will become much better on Philharmagic when the newness wears off in a couple of years. Then the waits will become more manageable and FP will be more useful, IMO.

"Yes, I'd like a FastPass for the Fastpass for TestTrack please! This way I'll be able to come back at a certain time so I can find out when I can come back at another time so I can ride this attraction. Please don't make it too difficult, though. I need to keep my day as open as possible...never know when that one true Magical moment will arise and I'm busy doing my thing in the bathroom 'cause of all the time I've wasted 'cause of all the lines I've been waiting in just to get my $3.00 water! :brick:

I think Philharmagic will be different than Muppets and HISTA because it is in Fantasyland and it features CLASSIC Disney characters. I really can see it having 30-45 minute waits 10 years from now. I could be wrong though.
