fastest way to DTD

Hey everybody, I'm going to tap the vast information pool that is WDWmagic, On thursday the 24th we will be having an early dinner at CP for 3:45 in MK, we will be attending the DVC block party, what we want to know is, what is the fastest way to get to DTD? We have done the block party before and we don't want to miss any of this event. Thanks in advance. :animwink:

I'd say take the monorail to the Contemporary (first stop?), then the bus to DTD.

The bus from Contemporary to DTD takes forever. It also stops at Poly.
You will probably be better off taking a bus to a hotel that is close to DTD like old key west.

Last time I walked to the contemporary, I waited 1/2 for the DTD bus and I know I didn't just miss one because there were quite a few people there waiting already.

The fastest way would be your own (or rental) car. Assuming you don't have a car your next fastest option would be a taxi. Beyond that I would say your fastest free option would be to take a bus from the MK to Saratoga Springs and walk (10 min or so) the rest of the way. There is also a ferry from SS, but I believe it goes to OKW before it returns to DTD, so you could definately walk faster.

That would be a special event held thru the summer for DVC members, they section off an area close to the PI entrance for DVC members, they have a bunch of free entertainment, food one of the clubs is opened, the have a DJ, and if they follow last year they also have a trivia contest. Then at the end all attending get to stay in PI for free. The whole event is from 5 to 7, all you have to do is show your DVC card and you go in. Alot of fun. Thanks for the ideas, it looks like we are going to do the walk from SSR. 8 days and counting, I'm about to burst!!! CAN'T WAIT, CAN'T WAIT!! :zipit: :zipit:

I would suggest going out to the resort buses and taking the bus to Saratoga Springs. Downtown Disney is about a 5 minute walk from that resort. Get off at the Carriage House if you want to walk the bridge over to the West Side or get off at Congress Park to walk to the Marketplace. There are nice pathways both ways. We always stay at Saratoga Springs because of the convenience of getting to DTD.

Thankyou, that seems the best way for us, we just have to eat like maniacs or get there extra early so we won't have to shove the food in without tasting!! Personally I'd much rather taste. :slurp: :slurp: :sohappy:
