Fast Pass for TSMM at 30 Days

Ok, so I'm taking a trip with my husband in Oct. and going back with friends in Jan. Because of this, I'm getting an AP. So because I'm not buying regular park tickets, I can't book fast passes until 30 days, right?

My question is, will I be able to get a Fast Pass for Toy Story Midway Mania at 30 days? We've been 3 times and still haven't ridden that.

Are you not staying on property? If you are, you can book the 60 mark as a resort guest. If you are not staying on property you should be able to get a decent one at 30 days, plus as noted the rope drop option.

Oh good to know @DisDadWoz and @Mukta! The TA didn't add me to the resort reservation for my January trip because she booked it as a package. She said we could add me when we check in. BUT I was more worried about the trip with my husband, and I'm on the resort reservation for that one :) Thanks so much! My husband will be relieved since we're not early birds, so we've never done rope drop.

If you are staying onsite and have any type of valid ticket on your MDE account you can book FP+ at 60 days. The only way you would have to wait until 30 days is if you are not staying onsite. :)

I am for both trips, but the travel agent isn't including me on the reservation for my january trip because she booked it as a package (and I don't need the tickets). So she's saying we'll add me when we check in. I don't like being left off of the reservation, but I'm not an expert, so I guess that's normal. I booked my fall trip myself, so no worries there :)

A few problems with your Travel Agent's route:

-You won't be able to customize a new MagicBand for that trip. You'll be stuck with a default gray one that you'd get at check-in. (Though you'll still be able to use the Band from Trip 1, and you'll get a second Band after you activate your AP)

-You won't be able to use Magical Express, since you won't be on the reservation until you check into the hotel. (Though if you're arriving by car that doesn't matter)

-Without being on the hotel reservation, you won't be able to book FP+ for yourself until 30 days out for the second trip.

-If your package includes the Dining Plan, I'm 90% sure that adding you at check-in means you won't get the Dining Plan.

I'd suggest one of two resolutions:
-Book the hotel as a Room Only reservation for everyone and buy tickets separately for anyone who needs them.
-If you want the Dining Plan, the TA can book it as an Annual Passholder package with dining, which doesn't require a ticket purchase as part of it. You can then buy the tickets for everyone else and link them to their MDE profiles.

@Rob562 I think the fast pass booking is the only thing that will affect us. I don't mind the gray magic band and we're driving so no DME. We aren't planning on doing the dining plan. I just emailed the TA to see if we could do room-only. If the AP wasn't saving me $100, I'd just say forget it and buy two separate multi-day tickets!

Even if we can't change it, I think we should be fine just getting to Hollywood Studios at rope drop to ride TSMM.

I've noticed that most popular rides still have FP+ available a few days out (because sometimes I have gone in to tweak my times and there are lots of options). TSMM is very popular but you should be able to get FP+s for it, maybe not your ideal time but it should work out. Good luck!

I just booked FPs for a friend inside her 30 day window- they are staying off property. I was able to get TSMM with no problems for a trip in July. I didn't stay up until midnight (like I do for my own FPs at the 60 day window) or anything special. I just happen to ask her when her trip dates were and then ran to a computer ;)

Not saying this is happening for everyone, but at least it's a story in your favor!

If you're OK waiting, you can make FP+ for those on the hotel reservation at 60-days and then at the 30-day mark you can try copying them over to your account.
